Zedd
Zedd is a neutered rescue Collie x Kelpie, we took him on when he was four years old as his third home, having never owned dogs. We were told he was a Collie x Labrador, and that the lab side would calm down the collie edge - he is not! The kelpie amps up his drive, pain tolerance and volume instead. When we took him on, he was to be a pet, to get us out of the house every day. He was beyond sanity, his previous family had encouraged him to pull them along, and only interacted with him by playing football. He would spin in circles with pent up energy, he knew only one command - sit. We got him straight into obedience training, and fought his stubbornness twice a day to stop him pulling on a lead until he learned to walk in heel. We burned through obedience training and moved on to agility. He adored it, he excelled in it, but it exposed an old injury and he had to stop. We taught him herding games. Then, we pivoted into gundog, with a dog that had zero retrieve instincts, who wanted to herd us to the item. It took a year, but he learned it, and loved it too, and so did we. We decided to go looking for a second dog who we could do more gundog with, and agility. Impa
Impa is a working cocker spaniel. She lives in the home with us, our young child, and Zedd. Her dad is Rowston Rage OFTAW, and her mum Rapidgold Lytle Pix, competing in agility. Her grandparents: GB.FtCh Rowston Spikey Aderyngi, Rowston Stor FTW, GB.FtCh Rollafields Redbud At Naxshivan and Kinnadie Lexi Of Rapidgold AW(G). Three successful competitors at gundog and one at agility. https://cockerspanieldatabase.info/en/Rapidgold-Snow-limits-at-Impazedge/pedigree/217165/i
Impa was our first puppy, our first pedigree dog and our first spaniel. She is incredibly fast and driven - a Ferrari of spaniels. She's not competed yet, due to her humans having a pregnancy and young baby, and we are looking forward to getting her out there late 2024. Training her has taught us huge amounts, we've made mis-steps along the way and overcome them together. She is our origin dog: headstrong, affectionate and relentless.
