iSMART Research

iSMART Research iSMART is a PhD research project, looking at innovative approaches to self-management in children with long-term conditions and their families.

iSMART (Innovative approaches to self-management in children with long-term conditions and their families) is a PhD research project looking at ways in which children, aged 4 to 11, with long-term health conditions are able to look after their own health, with the support of their families, friends, healthcare professionals and teachers. This research is led by Simon Stones, a postgraduate PhD student at the University of Leeds, in collaboration with a team of young people, parents, healthcare professionals, teachers and researchers.
