Unfortunately, we are experiencing technical issues at Elmwood Surgery this morning (Wednesday 15th April), which may cause slight delays.

Garforth and District Walking Group!

13 Apr 2026 - Meeting @ The roundabout at Great Preston for a Mystery walk including some of the Old Railway line meeting at 10:00 am.

20 Apr 2026 - Meeting @ The Stanley Ferry Inn on the road to Altofts at 10:00 am for roughly two hour walk of about 5.5 miles. A chance to see Heath Common and much more.

27 Apr 2026 - Meeting Holy Trinity Church car park opposite the church in Rothwell (Church Street) for a walk which is circumnavigation of Rothwell, at 10:00am for a two-hour walk.

4 May 2026- Meeting @ the John Charles Centre, main entrance car park. LS11 5DJ.This is a 4 mile walk around Middleton Park. Includes a chance to see the Historical railway. Meet at 10.00am as usual.

11 May 2026 - Meeting on the Old A1, South of Aberford near the Almshouses opposite the War Memorial. The walk is towards The Rein and Lotherton Hall. This walk will start at 10:00 am for a walk lasting roughly two hours.

18 May 2026 - Meeting @ The car park at the west side of Newmillerdam at 10:00 am. Take the M1 and look for the turn off 39 Durkar for a walk around a mature woodland. The walk will last just around two hours. There is a small charge to pay for Parking..

25May 2026 - Bank Holiday no walk planned. ………………

All walks will be muddy after rain so suitable footwear is recommended.

Found in our car park this afternoon… a very special little patient! 🧸

This little furry friend was found in our car park today, so we’ve taken them inside to keep them safe and well looked after until we can reunite them with their owner.

We’ll be keeping them safe over the Easter weekend and making sure they’re well cared for (although we promise not to feed them too much Easter chocolate! 🍫).

If this belongs to you or your child, we will be open again from 8:00am on Tuesday, and you’re very welcome to come and collect him or her then.

⚠️ Roadworks Notice – Church Lane, Garforth

There will be roadworks and some road closures on Church Lane over the next few weeks.

You can still access the Medical Centre car park from the Main Street side, but please allow a little extra travel time for your appointment as diversions may cause delays.

A message to our patients -

Due to the building work being carried out at Elmwood Surgery we would like to ask that prescriptions are collected between 3pm and 5pm daily. The surgery remains open if this is not suitable.

Alternatively, we are opening our delivery service to non-housebound patients, offering deliveries for the next 2 weeks.

If you would like a delivery, please let us know when you request your medication.

Garforth and District Walking Group!

2 Feb 2026 - Meeting at 10:00am at the car park on Linton Road between Collingham and Linton. This is just on the right-hand side of the road just before the bridge over the Wharfe. The walk will be to Wetherby and back, roughly 4 miles. Your leader will be Malcolm. Tel. 0774 120 3307.

9 Feb 2026 - Meeting @ Temple Newsam House at 10:00am for approx. 4 mile walk of the gardens and woods of Temple Newsam. Peter will be your walk leader. Tel 07870677391.

16 Feb 2026 - Meeting @ Fairburn Village at 10:00am for a 5 mile Walk Including Ledsham village. Meet at the car park in Fairburn Village, near the noticeboard. Tim will be your walk leader tel. 07866 530127.

23 Feb 2026 - Meeting @ The Canal car park at the end of Pottery Lane which is a short distance from Woodlesford Railway station.

The walk will be to Skelton Lake, roughly 5 miles, starting at 10:00 am. The car park is very small so I suggest either sharing a lift or parking on Pottery Lane. Linda and Bob will be your walk leaders tel. 07940 284267.

2 Mar 2026 - Meeting @ 10.00am just on the South side of Micklefield for a 4 mile walk through Castlehill woods. Limited parking at the Micklefield MX Track entrance.
