I accepted and put on my books a lady who has just had enough of being obese, morbidly obese. A women who was simply fed-up, joint problems; nd with extremely high; blood pressure, cholesterol and prescribrd all kinds of medication - such as statins and antipressants prescribed to her for high blood pressure.
After speaking to her I just got the sense she was just fed-up demotivated and even though middle aged had one thought in her head, 'she needed to and wanted to lose the weight!?'

"I have been a type 2 diabetic for 25 years, and was diagnosed a year ago with non alcoholic fatty liver disease. After researching what diet to follow I found the advice very conflicting has I had 2 conditions. I looked for nutritionists and found Darren on bark. At this point my mental and physical health was at rock bottom. I worked with Darren on slowly changing my diet, so it wasn't too challenging. Being taught what to eat and what effects it was having on my body I have been able to reduce my weight and my continues slowly dropping which is helping me to be more active. Although I haven't done any exercise other than walking about in my day to day life. I was also taught about the importance of food and food plays an important part in your mental health and the importance of relaxation. Although I haven't done any exercise other than walking about in my day to day life. I feel that my body is working much better and that gives me the confidence and motivation to continue has it has helped my mental health a great deal, looking forward to much better health in the future. The results speak for themselves,I am off some of my medication,my blood sugar readings are continuing to fall ,I have had some weight loss and my mental health is much more positive, which is giving me the motivation to be much more active."

"“Working with Darren has been a game-changer for my son. Since following his guidance, his food intake has improved significantly, and he now stays full for much longer. Given his condition and the increased risk of type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance, we were worried about managing his nutrition properly. However, Darren provided expert advice tailored to his needs, making healthy eating easier and more effective. Not only have we seen a positive change in his overall well-being, but he has also gained weight in a healthy way, building muscle mass rather than excess fat. We’re so grateful for the support and knowledge we’ve received!”
Thank you

There's very little to almost no validity in the concept that exercise helps you lose weight... When I say, almost no validity" I am referring to the many credible tests on willing participants for this to be proven and resulted in only a small percentage that this only works for, that's it, Sorry people! I am also talking with reference to my own experiences. Allow me to elaborate. Many of my clients when I first began working as a Personal Trainer would ask for guidance and specifically would ask for 'Weightloss' and direction and instruction given by me. I would see many work and plenty would work their arses off only to no avail. Allow me to continue by saying exercise for 'weightloss' for most is a non-starter However, 'exercise' is important and comes with so many important benefits for your health. If you want to lose weight think about how you live and your diet because only then will you start to see the results you are after.
After experiencing his own issues with weight gain, I.B.S, addiction and more, Darren is determined to help men and women, and children get to the bottom of unwanted weight. THE DETAILS: Prices for a one-to-one session with Darren start from £60.

I mean you look for interest; and if I could understand why you look this would be of huge interest to me. That, and I could be informed and I could post more of what you would like to see, or anything you want to see more of?
Lets say you from the many who sends me their message saying what they would like to see more of? - That's what you'll see more of on here; win win! 🤗
If you could drop your name in the message, and say what you would like to see more of or what interests you ' nutrition and exercise related of course!!' This would be great!' "I would like to see more posts on 'weightloss' also woukd like to see more posts about I.B.S. as I have an irritable bowel" - really would be helpful. as I'm struggling at the min. As I would like this page to be as helpful as I think it has the potential to be girls and guys!
I really love what I do and passion drives me to do what I do too and if I can inform, with nutrition and exercise posts and I know by doing so this is something of use to you - then that makes sense, hope this does to you too!
You can support them in other ways, too: Keep trying to include them – they may not want to go out or join in with activities, but keep trying to talk to them and ask them along, just like before.
Even if they do not join in, they will still like to be asked. It will make them feel valued as a person.
Try to build up their self-esteem – perhaps by telling them what a great person they are, and how much you appreciate having them in your life and that you're happy to support them.
Give your time, listen to them and try not to give advice or criticise – this can be tough when you do not agree with what they say about themselves and what they eat.
Remember, you do not have to know all the answers. Just making sure they know you're there for them is what's important. This is especially true when it feels like your friend or relative is rejecting your friendship, help and support. How are eating disorders treated?

Question; Why are you overweight or obese, is it dietary? One of my main objectives is to find out if the problem is tied to being an emotional eater, physiological or psychological and for example maybe being an ‘emotional eater’ results in you having a difficult relationship with food?

Welcome I’m Darren Wilkinson and Founder of Be Fit For Life.
Hello,
In my career I have been fortunate to have helped a great many people overcome numerous obstacles that have hindered them from become healthier and fitter. The difficulties and obstacles have ranged from fatigue, aches and pains, pulled and strained muscles, and some with deeper psychological problems like depression, and lack of appetite whilst being diagnosed with; diabetes type 2; Coronary heart disease; obesity; Atherosclerosis, stroke, or Arthritis and other debilitating conditions and diseases. The more common issues have also been seen such as clients having; knee problems; injuries; weak joints; lathery; and having poor diets. There have also been on occasion a combination of the two and also more commonly due to been afflicted with a disease or condition that has contributed and exacerbated their disease or condition with picking up another problem or witnessing another obstacle as a result of their disease, or condition.
My clients have generally either walked into the gym that I have been working in, or I have been approached, and most commonly I have had the pleasure of working for them by friend referrals. My services have had appealed to them as they wanted to become healthier, and fitter but lacked the necessary knowledge, or in most instances apprehensive or been intimidated due to their condition or illness. My clients understood after talking to me that their present state of health did not need to be so debilitating and with some practical guidance and positive reassurance their circumstances could change for the better. I believe their present state of mind was the key to initiating such a dramatic change in their lives.
Recently, I obtained my BSc Nutrition degree in social sciences. The core subjects of the degree are built up of Physiology, Nutrition and Biochemistry, nutrition being under pinned by many processes of Physiology and Biochemistry. Subjects that are taught through-out the degree expand from core principal sciences to understanding many of the illnesses and conditions people suffer from; such as, Cancers, Diabetes, Coronary heart disease, malnutrition; psychological barriers, Vitamin deficiencies etc. The curriculum covers in great detail diseases and conditions such as; diabetes type 2; Coronary heart disease; Cardiovascular disease i.e. strokes and Atherosclerosis, hypertension and Obesity and other dissimilating conditions and diseases.
My desire and passion to better myself has never wavered especially when realising my knowledge was very limiting when I was a Personal Trainer. Thus, was pre-requisite for going back to college and achieving my G.C.S. E’s and A levels in order to advance on to a nutrition degree. Although my abilities lacked depth when being in a position to initially speak to people, (when I was a trainer) I had to ask myself are you willing to go back to school and educate yourself? In order to be able to be able to make a significant impact and help people that needed a certain kind of expertise and guidance in order to change their present state of health?
I knowingly feel I’m able to make a significant difference and want to help people less fortunate that are in need of the help I am qualified to offer.
My present circumstances are that I work with clients on a contract basis in at Core fitness (downstairs) in the Park First building. I do not have any specific working hours as I tailor my work to the client’s availability, and this can be during unsociable hours. I begin work at 05.00 and will accommodate potential clients that need later in the day, as am indeed flexible to potential offers that may require this.
