✨ Team Christmas Night Out! ✨

We had a fantastic evening celebrating with our amazing team at the Village Hotel Club for their brilliant ABBA tribute night! 💃🕺

Our staff work incredibly hard all year round, so it’s lovely to be able to treat so many of them to a night where they can relax, laugh together, and let their hair down a little.

A huge thank you as well to the team members who were on shift that evening, and to every single member of staff who works tirelessly throughout the year to make Alexander Care Home such a warm, welcoming and supportive place for our residents.

And judging by the dancefloor… we’re pretty sure we’ve got the best dancers in care! 😉✨

🎄 December is set to be a month full of festive cheer at Alexander Care Home! 🎄

We have a wonderful line-up of events to bring joy, togetherness, and plenty of smiles to our residents and their families:

✨ Tuesday 9th December, 1.45pm – A heart-warming visit from Giggles Nursery
✨ Friday 12th December, 11am – St Francis Primary School join us for festive fun
✨ Saturday 20th December, 2–4pm – Resident & Relative Christmas Party with drinks, refreshments, a raffle and entertainment
✨ Monday 22nd December, 11am – Christmas Panto: Puss in Boots
✨ Tuesday 23rd December, 2pm – Our Staff & Resident Choir perform Christmas Carols, with mince pies and refreshments
✨ Christmas Day – A Special Gala Christmas Lunch for our residents

…and lots of festive fun in between! 🎅✨

We’re looking forward to filling the home with laughter, music and magical moments throughout the month.

✨ Festive teamwork at Alexander Care Home! ✨

There’s something truly special about this time of year… and even more so when our residents and team come together to bring a little Christmas magic to the home. 🎄

Everyone has been busy decorating trees, adding twinkly touches, and even creating our very own cosy grotto. The laughter, the stories shared, and the creativity on show have made the home feel wonderfully festive already.

Everyone got involved but special thanks to Julie Stead and Hayley Furness for their amazing effort in co-ordinating everything!

At Alexander, it’s never just about decorations, it’s about doing things together. Moments of connection, joy and belonging are what make our community so special.

Here’s a little glimpse of the teamwork that’s helped turn our home into a winter wonderland!

✨ Things are starting to get festive at Alexander Care Home! ✨

With December now underway, our residents have been busy adding a personal touch to our Christmas decorations. From handmade ornaments to festive crafts bursting with colour, the home is slowly transforming into a cosy, cheerful winter wonderland.

There’s something truly special about decorations made with care, they don’t just brighten the walls, they lift the whole home.

We can’t wait to share more of the residents’ creations as the countdown to Christmas continues 🎄💜

FAQ: Are my family and friends welcome?

Of course – we value these most important of relationships.

If you’d like to hold a small family function for a birthday or celebration, you’re welcome to host your guests in our upstairs lounge or in your room, just speak to a member of staff.

Every resident is unique, and so is our approach to care.

We take the time to understand your or your loved ones' individual needs and preferences. Helping us create personalised care plans that promote wellbeing and independence.

Your personal care and healthcare are planned in consultation with you and your representatives. Other appropriate health professionals are also involved in the planning of your healthcare where necessary.

To ensure that we provide good quality care to you, our care team will record the details of your care in the Care Plan, along with details of your personal choices regarding the normal activities of daily living. All residents are actively encouraged to become involved in the care planning process and will be consulted at each stage of the Care Plan.

A copy of the Care Plan will be made available to you and/or your representatives (with your consent), to seek your agreement for signature when a change or a review takes place.

We operate a digital care planning system, but we
can make paper records available to you or your representatives if you wish.

We believe community and inclusion make life richer, inside and outside the home.

Our CQC report praised how we value diversity and build community connections. From adjusting shift patterns during Ramadan, to organising alcohol-free festive meals, to welcoming local schools and nurseries into our home, inclusion is part of who we are.

Residents have even enjoyed special outings, like attending a Shakespeare performance at a local college!

These connections bring joy, purpose, and a sense of belonging for everyone at Alexander Care Home.

There’s nothing quite like seeing our residents and staff come together for a bit of fun, especially when YMCA comes on! 💃🕺

Moments like this are what make life at Alexander Care Home so special. Laughter, movement, music and community all in one place.

Keeping active doesn’t always mean exercise classes, sometimes it’s simply a dance, a singalong, or a shared smile that lifts everyone’s spirits.

We love creating opportunities just like this, where residents can enjoy themselves, feel connected, and make joyful memories with the people around them. 💜

It’s National Self Care Week 💜

At Alexander Care Home, we believe self care isn’t selfish, it’s essential. Whether it’s taking time to rest, enjoying a favourite meal, or sharing a laugh with friends, small moments of care make a big difference to our residents’ wellbeing.

Our team supports every individual to feel their best physically, mentally, and emotionally, because caring for others starts with helping them care for themselves.

This week is a wonderful reminder that self care is for everyone, and that a little daily kindness towards yourself can go a long way. 🌿
