Raynaud’s — a common but often overlooked condition that affects circulation, particularly in the fingers and toes.
Raynaud’s causes the small blood vessels in the extremities to narrow in response to cold temperatures or stress, temporarily reducing blood flow. During an episode, fingers or toes may turn white, then blue, and finally red as circulation returns. This can be painful and may involve numbness, tingling, or throbbing.
It’s estimated that between 5–20% of people worldwide live with Raynaud’s, with women more commonly affected.
During the colder months, simple steps like keeping warm, maintaining gentle movement, and supporting good circulation can make a big difference. At Visiting Angels Leeds & Wakefield, we support clients with practical routines that help them stay comfortable, safe, and well at home.
