If rest was enough, your back pain would have settled by now.

For many people, ongoing back pain isn’t about damage.

It’s about capacity.

When we rest for too long:
• strength drops
• confidence drops
• tolerance to load drops

And then everyday things, walking, bending, lifting, training, start to feel harder than they should.

Most persistent back pain needs:
✔️ reassurance
✔️ the right dose of movement
✔️ progressive strength
✔️ a clear plan

Not endless protection.

At LFR, we help people rebuild strong, capable backs, so flare-ups stop running the show.

If your back keeps lingering or cycling, it might be time for a different approach.

I’d been looking for a Marine & Bovine collagen blend for a while.

Not something full of fillers.
Not something over-marketed.
Just a high-quality, pure blend that aligns with how we approach health in clinic.

So I was genuinely excited when I came across Vigor Vitamins, the UK’s first pure Marine & Bovine collagen blend, made right here in Yorkshire.

After meeting Rachel (who is absolutely lovely) and realising we share a very similar outlook on health and wellbeing, it felt like a natural fit.

We’re really proud to now be stockists of:

• Vigor Collagen
• Vigor Essential Multivitamin

As always — good nutrition comes first.
But supplements can be a valuable way to support recovery, energy and resilience, especially alongside rehab and strength training.

Postnatal back pain isn’t something you just have to “put up with.”

If your back still aches months (or even years) after pregnancy, it’s not because your body is broken — and it’s not something you should ignore.

Back pain after pregnancy is often linked to changes in:
• Core function
• Pelvic floor support
• Load tolerance
• Confidence with movement

Generic core exercises, resting, or avoiding movement rarely solve the root cause.

A Mummy MOT assessment looks at how your body is working, then gives you clarity, reassurance, and a progressive plan to help you feel strong again.

✨ You deserve support, not guesswork.

Living cautiously.
Avoiding movements.
Hoping this time it settles.

One of Jenny’s biggest “whys”?
Her mum 💙

Seeing her strength train with severe osteoporosis & arthritis at age 82 has changed how Jenny views fitness.

Strength isn’t about lifting the heaviest weight.
It’s about confidence.
Independence.
Staying capable for the things that matter.

At any age.

That’s why she does what she does.

💙 Movement is medicine.

100% doesn’t look the same every day.

Monday might be 90%.
Wednesday might be 30%.
Sunday might be 20%.

And that’s normal.

Your body isn’t a machine.
It responds to sleep, stress, hormones, workload, pain, recovery.

Showing up 100% means giving what you have, not what you had last week.

Consistency isn’t perfection.
It’s adjusting without quitting.

That’s how rehab works.
That’s how strength is built.
That’s how long-term progress happens.

If you’ve been stuck in the all-or-nothing cycle, we help people build something more sustainable.

The longest relationship you’ll ever have
is with your body.

And like any good relationship, it needs care, communication, and support,
especially when things feel hard.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re all about helping people feel more confident, capable, and supported in their bodies, at whatever stage they’re at.

💗 Movement done properly is an act of self-respect.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Meet Jenny 👋

Strength training isn’t just about lifting weights for Jenny; it’s about real life.

It started with her mum.
Seeing how the right strength training helped her move with more confidence, feel stronger, and maintain her independence showed Jenny just how powerful movement can be — at any age.

Then there are her kids.
Jenny wants them to grow up knowing their bodies are strong, capable, and worth looking after.

And finally, women.
Too many women are told that strength training is scary or unsafe. Jenny believes the opposite.
Done properly, it’s empowering, building confidence, resilience, and trust in your body, both in and out of the gym.

💙 Movement is medicine.

If you’d like to train with Jenny, through personal training, Intro to Strength Training, or small group fitness classes, get in touch with the studio for more information.

This is a story we see in clinic every single week.

Ongoing low back pain.
A “normal” scan.
And still no clear answers.

For many people, this is what non-specific low back pain looks like — frustrating, confusing, and often made worse by fear of movement rather than damage.

The good news?
Most back pain isn’t caused by something being “wrong” or broken. With the right assessment, clear explanation, and progressive rehab, people can move confidently again.

If this sounds familiar, a physio initial assessment can help you understand what’s driving your symptoms and what to do about them.

Most people think they need to feel ready, strong, or pain-free before they begin strength training.

In reality, confidence usually comes after you start — especially when you’re properly supported.

Our Intro to Strength Training programme is designed to help you begin safely, build confidence gradually, and feel supported every step of the way.
