The longest relationship you’ll ever have
is with your body.

And like any good relationship, it needs care, communication, and support,
especially when things feel hard.

This Valentine’s Day, we’re all about helping people feel more confident, capable, and supported in their bodies, at whatever stage they’re at.

💗 Movement done properly is an act of self-respect.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

Meet Jenny 👋

Strength training isn’t just about lifting weights for Jenny; it’s about real life.

It started with her mum.
Seeing how the right strength training helped her move with more confidence, feel stronger, and maintain her independence showed Jenny just how powerful movement can be — at any age.

Then there are her kids.
Jenny wants them to grow up knowing their bodies are strong, capable, and worth looking after.

And finally, women.
Too many women are told that strength training is scary or unsafe. Jenny believes the opposite.
Done properly, it’s empowering, building confidence, resilience, and trust in your body, both in and out of the gym.

💙 Movement is medicine.

If you’d like to train with Jenny, through personal training, Intro to Strength Training, or small group fitness classes, get in touch with the studio for more information.

This is a story we see in clinic every single week.

Ongoing low back pain.
A “normal” scan.
And still no clear answers.

For many people, this is what non-specific low back pain looks like — frustrating, confusing, and often made worse by fear of movement rather than damage.

The good news?
Most back pain isn’t caused by something being “wrong” or broken. With the right assessment, clear explanation, and progressive rehab, people can move confidently again.

If this sounds familiar, a physio initial assessment can help you understand what’s driving your symptoms and what to do about them.

Most people think they need to feel ready, strong, or pain-free before they begin strength training.

In reality, confidence usually comes after you start — especially when you’re properly supported.

Our Intro to Strength Training programme is designed to help you begin safely, build confidence gradually, and feel supported every step of the way.

Self-care is often framed as indulgent, something extra, or something you only do when you have time.

In reality, the most effective self-care is preventative.

It’s listening to early warning signs.
Choosing movement that supports you.
Resting when your body needs it.
Getting guidance instead of guessing.

Looking after your body isn’t selfish.
It’s how you stay active, confident, and resilient in the long term.

This February, self-care doesn’t have to be dramatic; it just has to be consistent.

Rest often feels like the safest option when your back hurts.
But for many people with ongoing back pain, too much rest can actually slow recovery.

Your spine is designed to move.
The key isn’t doing nothing, it’s doing the right kind of movement, at the right time, for you.

If your back pain keeps coming back, it’s worth getting guidance rather than avoiding movement altogether.

Just because pain is common doesn’t mean it’s something you have to live with

We see so many people who’ve quietly adapted around pain, stiffness in the morning, aches at the end of the day, niggles that never quite settle.

Pain often isn’t something to ignore or push through.
It’s your body’s way of asking for support.

Addressing issues early usually makes recovery simpler, not more dramatic, and helps prevent small problems from becoming long-term ones.

This is your reminder that you don’t have to wait until pain becomes limiting before you take action.

If this feels familiar, it’s worth listening to what your body’s been telling you.

Not sure where to start with your body, your pain, or your training?
You’re not alone, and you don’t need to guess.

At LFR, Physiotherapy, Pilates and Fitness aren’t separate services.
They’re part of a connected approach designed to help you live pain-free, move better, feel stronger, and stay well in the long term.

Some people start with Physio.
Others begin with Pilates or Fitness.
What matters is starting in the right place, and adjusting as your body changes.

• Or send us a message, we’ll guide you.

Being “too busy to slow down” doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
It often means your system hasn’t had the chance to reset, recover or be properly supported.

Our Too Busy To Slow Down Workshop is a practical session designed to help you:

• Understand how constant pace affects your body and energy
• Recognise early signs of overload (before they become injury or burnout)
• Learn simple strategies to support recovery without adding more to your to-do list
• Move, breathe and manage stress in a way that fits real life

This workshop is for people who:
✔️ Are always “on the go”
✔️ Feel wired but tired
✔️ Struggle to switch off
✔️ Want realistic tools, not more pressure
