This is Sam, one of my amazing members of the Monday Slimming World group in Belle Isle, she has lost 3stone 5.5lbs in just 22 weeks! Here’s her story ……🤩
Before joining Slimming World, I’ve always been fairly active, going to the gym a few days every week. In my 20s, I managed to maintain a decent weight just by working out on my own, but once I hit my 30s, things started to change. No matter how much I exercised, the weight just didn’t shift the way it used to. It knocked my confidence and left me feeling more self-conscious.
One of the biggest changes I’ve made since starting Slimming World is letting go of old habits, like “rewarding” myself with treats or junk food just for turning up at the gym. Instead, I’ve learned how to fuel my body properly. Food Optimising has been a complete game changer for me, unlike calorie counting, it doesn’t make me feel deprived. I can enjoy real food, feel satisfied, and never go hungry, and that’s exactly how I’ve been able to stick with it.
Now, the best part is how much I enjoy things that once felt uncomfortable. Shopping for clothes, for example, used to feel like a chore, but now I love it. I’m finally buying pieces I never felt confident enough to wear before, and it feels amazing being able to embrace the new body I have worked so hard for!
Slimming World has given me back my confidence and helped me find a healthy balance with food, and now a way of life that feels sustainable, not just for today, but for the future too.
