A meaningful paid opportunity for autistic adults

The Bridge CareGroup are offering a brilliant opportunity for autistic adults to become Co-Facilitators for the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training.

This role is ideal for autistic people who want to:

• use their lived experience in a valued, respected way
• build confidence and communication skills
• be part of a supportive and inclusive team
• help improve understanding of autism across health and social care
• contribute to training that genuinely changes attitudes and practice

If this sounds like something you would enjoy or benefit from, please send The Bridge Care Group a direct message and let them know you saw the opportunity through Unmasked.

I have completed the Oliver McGowan training myself and it is fantastic. It is respectful, neuroaffirming and genuinely impactful. Co-facilitators play a key role in making it meaningful and real.

If you’re interested, get in touch with them directly for more information.

Counselling at Unmasked Neurodiversity Network CIC

We are so grateful for this lovely feedback from one of our online clients.
Hearing that people feel welcomed, supported and safe means everything to us.

Counselling is a space where you can talk about the things you have never been able to say out loud before. A space where you are listened to, understood and met with compassion. A space where change feels possible.

If you are thinking about counselling, or you are unsure where to start, you can read more about how our service works here:

New blog now live on the Unmasked website.

I’ve written about the link between ADHD, hormones and perimenopause — something I wish someone had explained to me years ago. For so long I blamed the low motivation, the flatness, the emotional crashes and not wanting to socialise on ADHD alone. I was given antidepressants but no one ever mentioned hormones or how perimenopause can amplify ADHD symptoms.

This blog is the start of my journey, not the end. I’m still figuring things out, still learning, still listening to my body instead of blaming it. A big thank you to menopause_doctor drlouisenewsonpodcast — her podcasts have honestly helped everything click into place and given me the confidence to look at things differently.

If you’re in a similar place or trying to make sense of your own symptoms, I hope this helps you feel a bit less alone.

Have you been impacted by grief and loss? Here’s A community event we feel may be valuable

The Projecting Grief: Life and Loss Event is taking place on Wednesday 26th November, 10am–2pm at the Thackray Museum of Medicine, and we wanted to share it as something that may offer comfort, connection and support for anyone navigating grief or loss.

This special event marks the closing of the Projecting Grief exhibition and is delivered in collaboration with Projecting Grief, LS14 Trust, Being You Leeds and Seacroft Primary Care Network.

🧡 What the event offers:
✨ Personal stories from participants of the Projecting Grief project
✨ Creative healing activities including journaling, doodling, pottery and crochet
✨ A warm, supportive space to explore grief in its many forms
✨ Experienced facilitators guiding the sessions
✨ Hot drinks and light refreshments throughout

We’re not involved in running this event, but we recognise how meaningful spaces like this can be for those processing loss, and wanted to share it for anyone who might benefit.
