Baby Basics is a charity which aims to provide basic baby equipment for needy and vulnerable families

Baby Basics is a charity which aims to provide much needed baby essentials for needy and vulnerable families. We work with healthcare professionals to provide beautiful starter packs for new parents/mothers, which contain clothing toiletries and essential baby equipment. Baby Basics Leeds is a volunteer-led project based out of St Paul's Church, Ireland Wood and in partnership with many other churches and organisations around Leeds. If you would like to donate, we are in need of the following:

If you have any good quality seconds of the below:
* Moses basket
* Moses basket sheets
* Baby towels
* Toys (suitable for newborns)
* Muslin squares
* Baby blankets & sleeping bags
* Newborn clothes (size 0-6 months) inc. hats, mittens, socks

Or if you could add some items to your weekly shop: (these must be unopened)
* Maternity pads
* Sudocream
* Baby wipes
* Baby soap
* Baby shampoo
* Shampoo for mum
* Deodorant
* Cotton wool
* Breast pads
* Nappies (size 0/1/2)
* Toothbrush & paste for mum
* Chocolate/treats for mum

So many thank yous to so many fabulous supporters !

Thank you to Hookers and clickers for delivering bags of donations .

Thank you to Reduce reuse kids clothes for donation some bags of newborn clothes as well as baby grows that we were short of.

Finally we had a delivery from head office of donated items and wanted to say thank you to Amazon for the delivery

This week we are celebrating Archive on Kirkstall road. A wonderful cafe and event space who very kindly let us drop off our baskets so that the midwives and health visitors have a central point to collect from. Since we started this arrangement earlier this year over 120 baskets have gone through this space.
Thank you to Ben, Victoria and Spencer who agreed to help us and all the staff who often help me in with them as well as handing them out to the referrers.

Thank you so much to all who have donated, supported and bought us items- it is so appreciated!

Another busy morning with 7 baskets and 7 clothing bundles going out but sadly have some gaps in being able to fulfill some of the referrals fully.

This week we are short of:
*3-6 months babygrows
*baths
*0-12 months coats
*toothpaste suitable for under 12 months
*moses baskets
*moses basket stands

We currently have no *baskets* or *stands* in our storage…
If you have any or know someone who does please drop off to us! Or can you check out your local charity shop/ Facebook marketplace for us?
Please drop off to St Pauls Church, Ireland Wood, LS16 6BS. Drop off is on Sunday mornings or Monday - Thursday between 10-2. Please note they are shut for summer holidays 18-27th August (can still drop off on Sundays!)

Attached is our list of accepted items as well as clothing up to 12 months. Please only donate requested items and from our list in good clean condition. If able to sort and label clothing donations by size that would be a big help! We unfortunately don’t have space to store bulky or not listed items.

🌟 A huge thank you to the amazing team from Lansinoh who joined us earlier this week and helped pack an incredible 42 bundles! 🌟

Each bundle includes a selection of clothing for babies aged 3–6, 6–9, and 9–12 months, plus a toothbrush and toothpaste – providing practical support and a little joy to those who need it most. Their help means we can complete referrals more quickly and focus on other important tasks. We’re so grateful!🙌

🚨 Urgent Appeal from Baby Basics Leeds

In the last 4 weeks alone our volunteers have packed 29 referrals for those in need. As a result many of our stocks are now running low. We're struggling to meet the growing need.

We are desperate for the following items:
* Moses baskets and stands
* Moses basket sheets
* Blankets
* Muslins
* 0-3 month babygrows
* Baby baths
* Baby wipes
* Mum deodorant
* Nappies (sizes 0, 1 & 2)
* toothpaste for mum
* maternity pads
* nappy cream
