Rooms @ 1900 is situated in the heart of Calverley village. We endeavour to provide a service for professional people requiring a room to utilise for their business in a calm and tranquil setting, on flexible terms, without being tied into a lease or contract. Rooms @ 1900 provide that service as the rooms can be booked by the hour, half day or full day rate. There is no fixed term contract or lease, our booking system is entirely flexible and designed to meet your needs, whatever your requirements may be.
We have seven rooms in total, four of these are treatment rooms and three are counselling, consultation rooms or could accommodate a small group meeting. Each room is installed with its own intercom system and can be tailored to meet the needs of any professional service.
Free wifi is also available for online consultations/meetings.

Dr. Samara Ali - Clinical Psychologist
I am a fully qualified Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience offering assessment and therapy for a wide range of mental health and wellbeing difficulties.
I offer specialist assessments, with a particular focus on ADHD and Autism Screening and full diagnostic assessments. In addition, I provide learning disability assessments, memory assessments for concerns about forgetfulness and neuropsychological input for people following brain injury.
I also provide therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma (including birth trauma), self-confidence and self-esteem difficulties, relationship or work-related stress and postpartum depression/psychosis.
Alongside individual therapy, I provide Couples and Relationship Therapy, drawing on years of experience working with couples and families. 🎯 When the body says: “Bullseye!”

If you’ve had acupuncture, you might remember that moment when the needle goes in and suddenly… there’s a feeling. That needle has just “hit the spot”!

It’s not a sharp pain like an injection. It’s something different. A dull, heavy ache. A tugging or grabbing sensation. Warmth. A sense of fullness under the skin. Sometimes it even spreads further, travelling along a line or into a deeper area.

✨ This is what acupuncturists call deqi (得气) – literally “obtaining qi.” We can feel it through the needle too. Sometimes it might take a little gentle working of the needle to obtain it.

In Chinese medicine, it’s a sign that the body has registered the needle and qi is responding. It means the system is shifting. Change is beginning.

⚖️ In biomedical terms, deqi reflects stimulation of sensory nerves, connective tissue, and local bioelectrical activity. These signals can trigger the release of endorphins, modulate pain pathways, and influence the autonomic nervous system – helping your body move out of “fight or flight” and back into balance.

But understanding the science doesn’t make it any less remarkable. Quite the opposite! The nervous system is intricate and responsive, with a built-in intelligence that can reorganise, adapt, and heal when given the right nudge.

❤️‍🩹 That’s what acupuncture does. It reminds the body how to find its way back to harmonious health.
