Leeds GP, Dr Sarah Forbes urged people not to "put off" contacting their local surgery for conditions such as ongoing health issues, ear discharge / pain, rashes, and stomach aches and cancer symptoms.Access to your local GP practice has changed but this doesn’t mean it’s stopping you contacting us for any health concerns"

Information re: Changes to GP Services & Prescriptions:
Dr Martin Sutcliffe from Alwoodley Medical Centre, has been brilliant by doing promotional work to help patients and the public understand changes to GP services. He has made a series of videos about the changes, and how to order and collect prescriptions.
The changes to GP services have also been put into short films in Urdu, Bengali, Hindi & Mandarin by some of his colleagues. Links to all these videos can be found here: Please do share!

An Urgent Plea from a Leeds GP - Cancer Signs and Symptoms
GP's across Leeds are calling for anyone with concerning cancer symptoms not to delay consulting their doctor due to the much publicised pressure on the NHS. GP's are still welcoming telephone triages of patients with concerning symptoms as the earliest diagnosis and treatment is vital.

**Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month**
Ovarian cancer often causes symptoms that are similar to other more common and less serious conditions. This can make it difficult to diagnose early, before the cancer has spread.

People who have any of these symptoms for no reason, or get these symptoms regularly (especially more than 12 times a month), should be offered cancer tests by their GP:

🔵 A long-lasting bloated or swollen tummy.
🔵 Loss of appetite.
🔵 Feeling full quickly when you eat.
🔵 Pain in the lower tummy area or back.
🔵 Passing urine more often than usual.
🔵 Passing urine more urgently (feeling like you can’t hold on).

Read more about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer here 👉https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-information-and-support/ovarian-cancer
