HOW TO PREVENT TEETH FROM MOVING BACK AFTER HAVING THEM STRAIGHTENED

This is a point that we always discuss at the consultation appointment with our patients before starting any teeth straightening.
We always advise both fixed and removable retainers, to prevent your teeth from moving back and causing what we would call relapse.

We usually fit a bonded retainer like the one seen here, and then also provide night time removable retainers.

Having a specific bonding protocol is key, to ensure the retainers fit as they should, and prevent unwanted tooth movement.

These are all included in our platinum teeth straightening package, along with teeth whitening.

Here is a list of the most commonly asked questions our patients ask about teeth whitening 🦷

❓How white will my teeth get after teeth whitening?
👉 Most people can get between 4 and 6 shades lighter, but this can vary! Your dentist will be able to match your starting shade, and give you an indication of what is realistically possible.

❓Will my teeth get sensitive?
👉 You will be given a customised whitening prescription based on the assessment done by your dentist. This will ensure minimal sensitivity and maximum comfort! Certainly one size does not fit all.

❓ How long will it last?
👉 It will last indefinitely with good aftercare and maintenance. Your dentist will discuss this regime with you in more detail.

Meet the team!

Please say hello to Dr Jawaad Arif, who you can find on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays at Indigo Dental.

Jawaad qualified as a dentist from Newcastle in 2020. Since then, he has undertaken further training in fixed braces, clear aligner treatment, composite bonding, and more recently in implant training. Jawaad likes to keep up to date with the latest developments in dentistry to provide his patients with the best treatment options tailored to them. He currently works on Saturday mornings, to allow some flexibility to patients who otherwise would be busy during the week.

In his spare time, you can find Jawaad in the gym or playing football. He also loves to travel with family and friends.
