"As National Apprenticeship Week comes to an end, I am incredibly proud to reflect on the opportunities we create at MMCG and the amazing colleagues who choose to take on an apprenticeship journey with us.

Apprenticeships are not easy - they require commitment, resilience, and the confidence to step outside your comfort zone while balancing day‑to‑day responsibilities. I see firsthand the challenges our learners navigate, and I have so much respect for every colleague who chooses to grow their skills, develop their careers, and invest in their future.

But the best part of my role?
✨ Watching colleagues light up as they successfully pass an external interview with flying colours.
✨ Watching the completions come through, knowing how hard colleagues have worked.
✨ Knowing the impact these achievements have - not just for the individual, but for our teams and the people who live with us.
✨ Seeing the pride in every learner who has worked so hard.

I’m incredibly proud of the culture at MMCG, where development is encouraged, and colleagues are given real opportunities to progress. And I’m equally proud of every apprentice who takes that opportunity and makes it their own.

Here’s to always celebrating the power of apprenticeships, the dedication of our learners, and the difference they make every single day."

"My name is Sarah, and I am currently employed as a Nursing Associate at MMCG within Rosedale Nursing Home.

I have been a committed member of MMCG since May 2018, dedicating nearly eight years to supporting residents with professionalism, compassion, and high‑quality care. In 2024, I achieved my Nursing Associate qualification, and I have recently submitted my application for the Registered Nurse Top‑Up Programme.

I have always aspired to become a Registered Nurse, driven by a strong commitment to advancing my clinical knowledge and skills so that I can consistently deliver safe, effective, and person‑centred care. My passion for caregiving underpins my dedication to continuous learning and professional growth, and I am motivated to contribute positively to both patient outcomes and the wider care team.

This apprenticeship represents an invaluable opportunity for me to further enhance my competence, broaden my clinical understanding, and strengthen my ability to provide exemplary, individualised care. I am eager to progress within my profession, deepen my expertise, and support others through shared learning and best practice."

"I recently completed my Level 5 Learning & Development Consultant/Business Partner apprenticeship and achieved a merit. Throughout the programme, I learned practical skills that helped me understand how people learn, how to ask better questions, and how to improve training and content. I applied these skills directly to my daily work, which made the learning feel useful and helped me grow quickly in my role.

Finishing the apprenticeship has made a clear difference to my work as Learning and Development Content Creator and Data Lead. I now create clearer, more engaging learning materials and use data more confidently to understand what is working. I also work more closely with managers and teams to understand their needs and help them find the right learning solutions.

I would encourage anyone to consider an apprenticeship if they want to develop themselves, it's a great way to learn new skills while still working, and it gives you real experience you can use straight away."
