Can we please normalise NOT skipping breakfast before our morning workouts…just because we “don’t have time”? 😅✨
🏋🏼♀️ I feel your pain… evening gym sessions are rough. You finish work, battle traffic, wait for free machines, then go home to cook a whole meal. Before you know it, your night’s gone and you’re going to bed with a full stomach 😩
So it totally makes sense that more people are switching to morning workouts instead 👏
💤 BUT… if you’re not fuelling your body before that session, you might be setting yourself up for a day of snacking, cravings and low energy
That’s where my Pre-Workout Yogurt Bars come in handy 💥 🙌
✨ You’ll need:
🍓 150g oats
🍓 80g dates (stones removed)
🍓 100g hot water
🍓 ½ tsp sea salt
🍓 ½ tsp Ceylon cinnamon
🍓 30g coconut oil
🍓 30g ground flaxseeds
🍓 100g frozen berries
🍓 200g 0% Greek yogurt
🍓 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
✨ Method:
1️⃣ Add dates, coconut oil, cinnamon, salt + hot water to a bowl. Soak a few mins to soften, then mash together.
2️⃣ Add oats + flaxseeds, mix with your hands.
3️⃣ Press into a small baking tray.
4️⃣ Mix yogurt + lemon juice (if using), spread on top.
5️⃣ Heat berries until soft, layer over yogurt.
6️⃣ Freeze until solid
7️⃣ Cut into 6 bars + store in freezer.
👉 I like to microwave one for 20 seconds in the morning so it’s not too cold on my teeth (or tummy!) 😋
