Today we proudly recognise World Down Syndrome Day, a day that celebrates inclusion, individuality, and the unique strengths that make every person valuable within our communities and workplaces.
At Butterfly Funeral Services, we are especially proud to work alongside our colleague Matty, who happens to have Down syndrome. Matty is not defined by a diagnosis, but by his dedication, kindness, professionalism, and the genuine care he brings to everything he does.
In a profession built on compassion and trust, Matty reminds us daily that empathy, patience, and respect are the true skills that matter most. His attention to detail, warm nature, and positive outlook enrich our team and the families we serve. He doesn’t just contribute to our work, he strengthens it, teaching all of us that ability is measured by heart, commitment, and character, not labels.
World Down Syndrome Day is about recognising potential, breaking down assumptions, and celebrating inclusion in action.
