Following on from some of the recent communications sent focussing on reducing patient DNA rates within Primary Care, we wanted to share the details of a newly launched NHS campaign called “Tap the App”. This urges people to turn on “push alerts” from the NHS app, so that they get reminders about their appointments and can rearrange any that they cannot make.

All the information can be found by following this link:

Important Update: From 1/2/26, as mandated by the government, the way GP appointments are booked will change. We will no longer offer 8am on-the-day apps. GP apps must be requested via the patient triage link on our website. You will be asked a series of questions and, once submitted, all requests will be triaged by a GP and booked appropriately. If the GP feels your request is urgent, it will be prioritised. If you require help with the online form, please call reception on 0116 289 8111 & the team will assist you. Available Mon–Fri, 7am–7pm. Please note, patients can no longer queue at the surgery at 8am.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Week- 19th-26th January 2026

Cervical Cancer Awareness Week is a reminder of how important prevention and early detection are.

Cervical screening (smear tests) can detect HPV or early cell changes before cancer develops. Screening is offered to people with a cervix aged 25–64.

Please contact the surgery if:
-You’ve received a screening invite but haven’t booked yet
-You think you may be overdue for a smear
-You have any questions or concerns
See a GP if you notice unusual bleeding, pain during s*x, or unusual vaginal discharge.
Attending cervical screening saves lives. 💙
