Join us on Thursday 2 October, from 6pm to 8:30pm at Antenatal Clinic, Kensington Building, Leicester Royal Infirmary, for our Maternity Matters: Meet the Expert event.

This is your chance to meet the people who care for you during pregnancy, ask questions, and learn more about your care. You can also discover why vaccines matter in pregnancy, chat with midwives, student midwives and our infant feeding team, and get support for stopping smoking, mental health and wellbeing. Our birth centre and homebirth teams will also be available, along with much more on the day.

Everyone is welcome to drop in. Interpreting services are available in Hindi, Romanian, Kurdish Sorani and Gujarati.

Congratulations to Claire Bryan, who is the first UHL midwife to receive two DAISY awards in honour of her ‘gold standard’ compassionate care.

Claire, who has worked for UHL since 2004 and helped to established our home birth service in 2017, was described by her nominators as a ‘professional friend’ and ‘an asset to the midwifery profession’, who provided ‘the best experience’ for the people in her care.

She said: “I'm honoured to receive another DAISY award, and to be part of an incredible team of midwives.”
