Hello All

And great news, tomorrow afternoon we are having another face-to-face meeting to put together our final plans for our Arty Social publication. We will be meeting at 1pm in Studio 1 at The Attenborough Arts Centre with the meeting lasting for circa 2 hours, but you can come and go as you please.

We will also be online for those who are unable to attend in person, usual login details.

There will be free tea, coffee and biscuits as always.

We hope to see you then.

Truly memorable violin session on Griffin Ward at The Herchel Prins Centre today. A very vulnerable patient joined the session and was supported by wonderful staff and patients in being able to participate in and enjoy the performance. It made both me and Adrian emotional at witnessing the compassion that was shown by all concerned.

And this 'He Took a Few Cups of Love' created by Netty Jonas at our recent Muhammad Ali inspired Smoothie session.

He Took a Few Cups of Love.

He took a few cups of love,
And he made me.
He took a few cups of love,
And he made my partner Chris.
He took a few cups of love,
And he made my best friend Colleen.
He took a few cups of love,
And he made my cousin Janet.
He took a few cups of love,
And he made my group Smoothie.
He took a few cups of love,
And he made my group REMIT.
He took a few cups of love,
And he made my group BrightSparks.
He took a few cups of love,
And he made my group Strides.
He took a few cups of love,
And he made my carer Swansum.

Look at this great 'Dream House' piece created by John Constantine as part of our warm up exercise at Wednesday Words yesterday.

Dream House

Dream house
Dream like
Take a hike
On your bike
Dream house
No door mouse
Fight the bully
In the gully

Dream house
With a pinch of spice
All cool and lovely
Chocs and jubbly

Dream house
Clear out the louse
Warm and lovely
Noble and gentry
Dream house
Johan strauss
Dance this waltz
Eliminate faults

This dream house
Alms to almshouse
Dream house
Burnt to ashes
If it does
rebuild and rise
above

And this amazing 'Teeth' piece created by John Constantine at our recent George Orwell inspired Wednesday Words session.

Teeth.

A rabid dog gnashes its teeth
and agonising death flows
from its foam.
We flee from the teeth of danger
and accept surrender
in the jaws of defeat.
Victory is long vanished
as oppression clamps down,
our enemies well-drilled.

If we opened our eyes and opened our minds,
then our mouths over gritted teeth,
we would shout -
“Look into the cavity, there is no liberty here!”

And this lovely 'He Took a Few Cups of Love' piece created by Jess Parkes at a recent Muhammed Ali inspired Smoothie session. Great stuff.

He Took a Few Cups of Love.

He took a tablespoon of patience
He took a wise teaspoon of thought
He found a mountain of generosity
With a quarter pint of laughter
One pinch of concern
He took a few cups of love
And then he mixed willingness with happiness
And he added a pinch of kindness
And he stirred it up well
One teaspoon of generosity
He took a wise teaspoon of thought
He added lots of patience
And stirred it up well
Then he spread it over with lots of faith
Inspired by a teaspoon of thought
He took a few cups of love
And scribbled it with hundreds and thousands
