Fosse-ADPRAC is the advanced practice wing of Fosse Healthcare, that has been developed with a view to provide safe and effective medical cover to all streams of Emergency, Urgent and Non-scheduled care. Our aim is to supply high quality ACPs or EPs to Emergency Departments or Walk in Centres. The team is lead by and includes national figures from Emergency Care with reputations of excellence in clinical and strategic leadership. ADPRAC differs from other employment agencies, as ADPRAC is lead by advanced clinicians for advanced clinicians. We understand what departments require and appreciate the levels of training and previous experiential knowledge that is necessary to work as an autonomous clinician. A Junior ACP is a nurse, paramedic, physiotherapist with a minimum of 5 years basic experience within emergency care, who has completed M-level assessments in Clinical Systems, and Clinical Investigations. A junior ACP has a PGcert in Advanced Practice this generally takes around two years in practice with constant tutorage, exposure to extensive portfolios, OSCEs, and ACATs in practice. The education has been designed to directly reflect that which is delivered to ACCS medical trainees, with good reason: ACPs see the same patients as doctors. All ACPs are trained to see any patient, of any age, and any acuity, which allows the employing trust the flexibility to deploy the staff to whichever area of the department is most in need of support at the time. All Senior ACPs will have completed their MSc, all will also come with Non-medical Prescribing and a minimum of 5 years experience as an independent clinician. Clearly, until the legislation expected in 2014 paramedical staff cannot independently prescribe but can with support from the local trust use Patient Group Directives to administer the majority of required medications. The provision of Emergency Practitioners is also available and all our practitioners are both injury and illness competent with some individuals having speciality training in sports injuries.
