Sign & Rhyme Fun and playful baby and toddler signing and singing groups with songs, musical instruments and stories to develop early interactive skills Hello – I’m Marie.

My experience as a speech and language therapy assistant, coupled with my signing skills (British Sign Language Stage 2), sparked my enthusiasm for baby signing. I’ve been teaching baby signing for some time now, and I can appreciate the benefits for both you and your child: it’s a fun and rewarding way to make the most of your baby’s natural ability to communicate; it encourages and supports their language development - you will always use signs together with the spoken word - giving them a head start when they begin to use their vocabulary, spelling and reading skills; and it strengthens the bond between you and your child.

🥰 Babies can understand so much before they actually talk, and baby signing enables them to communicate their emotions and needs effectively. Your ability to understand these needs through simple signs gives you the confidence to respond appropriately and helps to reduce frustration for you and your baby. The learning process is great fun, too and the classes are relaxed and friendly. 🥰 Weekly ‘Song in a Bag’ sessions. Age range birth to five years - £5 per session or £22.00 for five weeks (please note there are no refunds given for missed sessions if you pay in five week blocks.) Lots of fun for you and your little ones. Interactive session of signing and singing, musical instruments and so much more for you all to enjoy.


🥰 Five-week baby signing course to include handouts, £40, payable in advance. Age range 6months to twelve months. Learn specific signs to use with your baby in their daily routine. Lots of fun for you and your baby, a very interactive session for you all to enjoy.

Happy Wednesday! It was wonderful to see everyone after the Easter holidays🥰.

We had lots of fun shaking our instruments🪇🪇, the bell players rang their jingly bells🎊🎊, our drummer beat the drum🥁🥁 loudly, and our young girl did an amazing job tapping the xylophone🥰. Everyone joined in singing 🎼La, La, La, La, la🥳well done, all of you!
Such a fun time making music together🥰.

The children came up with brilliant animal ideas for our sea song: a wriggly octopus🐙, a splashy turtle🐢, a snap snap snap for our shark🦈, and a quiet sound for our fish🐟.

I think our little girl liked the duck that was in the sparkly box today - she gave the yellow duck such a big hug, and the smile on her face was a delight to see😍.

YAY, INCY WINCY DAY🥳.
It was so lovely to see the children at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth this morning after the Easter holidays😍. Great to hear about your Easter eggs, sounds like they were yummy😋.

The children did FAB-U-LOUS clapping out of our syllable words🥳, you are getting soooo good at this.
We had fire engine🚒👏👏👏👏, lorry🛻👏👏, aeroplane✈️👏👏👏, rocket🚀👏👏and boat🛥️👏. Well done all of you🥳. Fantastic tapping out on the tambourine too for your transport choices🥳.

Great singing and animal noises too - what a hullabaloo🤣.🐖🐎🐈‍⬛🐟🦤.

🐣What an EGGciting time we had at Sign & Rhyme this morning at Bagworth Commuity Centre🐣.

One of our girls had a lovely Easter bonnet🐣, and Grandma was wearing some very special rabbit ears🐇. FAB-U-LOUS🐣.

I think you all had a really fun time with our sea activity🤣. You made the fish splash about , Tigger rolled about and the balls, - well they just bounced everywhere🤩🤣!! But best of all I think you loved hiding under 'THE SEA' 🥰. Well done everyone🥳.

So, take a peek👀 at our lovely photos from today and you will be able to see lots of smiles from everyone having a fab time enjoying themselves😍.

I hope you enjoy your treats and your Easter🐣 decoration is already hanging up at home🐣.

Hi everyone, what a blustery morning it was💨💨, I think we all got blown into Sign & Rhyme🤣, and now we have hail !!🤩

We said goodbye to one of our families today🥲. We shall miss you both, but we are sure Alice will thoroughly enjoy herself at nursery🥰, and we wish you all the very best as you return to work🥰. It has been a pleasure having you both at the group, and so lovely to see Alice getting involved and enjoying all the activities😍. Do pop back to see us when you have a free Wednesday🥰.

When it was time for us to sing about a cockerel on the farm, one of our little girls told us about two animals she had seen at the farm - a 'bunny rabbit'🐇, and a 'moo cow' 🐄. She was so proud to tell us her news🥳😍. Also one of our boys wanted to tell us he had four people coming round for dinner🤩, we hope you had a great time😂. I love listening to these snippets of information from the children, it shows how confident they are about chatting 🥳.

You were all soooo good at instrument time, you kept your instruments quiet for such a long time🥰. Well done all of you🥳.

Our story today was 'I Like It When', which tied in great with our sign for this week which was 'LIKE'. It was great to hear that you like dancing, helping, tickles, hugs and kisses goodnight🥰

After all these weeks the children at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth were delighted to see the giraffe 🦒 in the sparkly box 🤣. I wonder what will be in there next time 🤭.

Our Sign Of The Week, was 'LIKE' . We had lots of suggestions of what they like to eat, we had apple 🍎, banana 🍌, ice cream 🍦, water melon 🍉 and biscuits🍪 😋. But we did have one of the boys say he didn't like ice cream 😱🤣. So lovely to hear what they like or don't like 😄.

We had some great little performers doing some actions to one of our songs 🥰, we had lots of jumps and lots of stamping 😄. Well done all of you🥳.

I hope you all have a lovely Easter and I shall look forward to seeing you all again after the Easter holidays 😊.

Not only was it lovely to see the sun this morning☀️, we also had a lovely session at Sign & Rhyme 🥰.

We welcomed two new families ☺️☺️ and we all hope you enjoyed it, hopefully we will see you again soon🥰.

Our signs for this week are 'SHARE' and 'SORRY', and we had lots of sharing amongst you all 🥳, We shared 'Tigger' around by rolling him to each other, and it was nice to know that you would share cake with me 🍰and also your toys with everyone😍. Well done all of you 🥳. We chatted about if you accidently bump into someone that you can say and sign 'SORRY'

It's great to see you all taking part in Roly Poly, and you all watching in anticipation for when you can roll your arms very very fast🤣.CLASSIC

It's such a joy to look around a room filled with families and see lots of smiles and excitement when you are all taking part in the activities🥰. The very young ones get their little legs and arms going when they see the instruments, and then they often squeal with delight too when they have chosen something😍. It's also great to see the older ones growing in confidence within the group. This can be just toddling up to get something out of the bag, or at Story Time they tell you something that has happened at home🥰. Today when a little girl saw a cat in the book , she told us that a cat went upstairs in her house❤️. It is so lovely to hear these things that they are thinking of and relating it to what they see in a book etc🥰FAB-U-LOUS. This is why I enjoy running Sign & Rhyme, to see all this going on.
Please let me know what you like/enjoy about coming to the group🥰.

We did like our book today 'Does A Cow Say Boo!' Lovely to hear you making the sounds of the animals - but I particularly liked you covering your eyes and all shouting 'BOO' at the end🤣. Well done all of you🥳

The children sat beautifully on the carpet eagerly waiting for our Sign & Rhyme session to start this morning at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth. Lots of smiles all round, and great waiting for our Roly Poly song - fantastic signing and singing to this favourite song🥳. Well done all of you🥳.

We had lots of guesses as to what was in our 'Sparkly Box'🤔.
Was it a TIGER🐅, an ELEPHANT🐘, a PIG🐖, a DOG🐕, or a GIRAFFE🦒? We know what was in there, but maybe you could tell your family what was in the box, I'm sure they would like to know🤩.

Our signs for today were 'SHARE' and 'SORRY'. We had a lovely song about sharing, and it was great to hear that you would share your cake with me🍰🥰, and also that you like to share cars, dolls and other toys at Incy Wincy’s Preschool - Bagworth🥳. Well done all of you🥳.

We had two stories at Story Time - 'SORRY' and 'DOES A COW SAY BOO'. We all knew a cow doesn't say 'BOO' 🤣, but it was great to hear you do all the correct sounds of the animals. Great finish when you all said 'BOO' 🤣🤩.

Sometimes we need to say 'Sorry' for lots of different reasons, so that sign is there if you ever need to use it❤️. A good book.🙂

Hi everyone ☺️, thank you for coming along to Sign & Rhyme today at Bagworth Community Centre 😃.

Welcome to our new family who came along today 😊, we hope you enjoyed yourselves 😊.

We always have lots of smiles from our families at our sessions and it is great to see the children engaging with the activites and with each other 😀.

Our signs for his week were 'SAME' and 'DIFFERENT'. These signs can be used within their play to help them understand the words.
Ideas for games
Memory cards - use about four matching cards. When they have two cards that are the same, say and sign 'SAME'. If they choose two that are different, say and sign 'DIFFERENT'

Children love posting things so you can also post the matching cards
Matching socks - find matching socks for teddy to wear🧸.

By using these words/signs 'SAME & DIFFERENT' prepares children for Literacy for when they go to school.
Listening for the same sounds for rhyming.
Listening for same sounds at the beginning, middle and end of words. 😊
