Avoid getting tricked this Halloween and follow our tips. 🎃🕷

We want to make sure that everyone has a fun and safe Halloween, no one wants to be waking up tomorrow morning with an eye infection.

1. Only wear contact lenses provided by your optician, the coloured contacts you can buy online may not fit properly and can scratch the cornea, can be unhygienic if not cared for and handled properly and can block oxygen flow to the eye causing irritation.

2. Keep sharp costume props away from your eyes. Opt for soft material props and hang decorations outside of eyeline to avoid accidents.

3. Use safe eye makeup, avoid glitter and make sure it is all taken off before going to bed.

4. Incorporate your glasses into your costume in order to not affect your vision.

This month, one of our technicians, Pratham, won that mantle. Pratham has recently moved into this role from elsewhere in the hospital while also helping out other departments, covering lots of hours (even the super early ones) and staying to ensure our patients receive the best care.
