✨ A lovely end to another busy week last week at Home Instead Leigh ✨

First up, we had a magical trip out with one of our clients to The Range to enjoy all the Christmas displays 🎄

Simple moments like choosing decorations, chatting about Christmases gone by and feeling part of the festive hustle and bustle mean so much – and we’re proud to make them happen.

We also want to say a huge congratulations to Holly Heaton on achieving her Care Certificate 🎓💙

Holly has worked so hard and is already making such a positive difference to our clients – we’re very proud to have her on the team.

We have also had really good feed back from Morrisons Leigh Community and can't thank the local community enough for the generous support through the festive period!

And finally… the office is officially Christmas-ready! Our little tree is up, the lights are twinkling and we’re looking forward to supporting our clients through the festive season with plenty of smiles, mince pies and companionship.

🌟 Our “Don’t Miss The Moment” Campaign Continues to Grow! 🌟

We’re proud to share that our dementia awareness campaign focused on recognizing the early signs of dementia and helping families put support plans in place is reaching even more people in our community. 💜

Local businesses have been amazing in getting behind this important message, and we’re thrilled to now have our leaflets displayed in thecoffeshop.ashton and Andys_All_Day_Breakfast
A huge thank you to these fantastic local partners for helping us spread the word and encouraging more people to spot those early moments that matter. Every conversation, every leaflet, and every shared moment helps someone feel less alone.

We’ve had so many lovely messages asking how you can get involved in our Santa for a Senior campaign, thank you! 💙

If you’d like to donate a small gift to brighten the Christmas of an older person in our community, we now have a dedicated drop-off point inside Morrisons at Leigh Sports Village.

Simply pop your items into the festive donation box (pictured below) and our team will make sure they reach a local senior who could really use a little extra joy this Christmas. 🌟

No one should wake up on Christmas morning and feel forgotten

Across the UK millions of older people are facing Christmas alone Age UK research shows that over two point three million older people wish they had someone to spend time with at Christmas and around one million say they feel more isolated at this time of year than any other

For many seniors in our local community Christmas Day is the hardest day of the year The TV is on for company the phone does not ring and the only card on the mantelpiece might be from a charity rather than a friend or family member

Our Santa for a Senior campaign is a simple way to change that Together we create Christmas hampers filled with thoughtful donated gifts and we personally deliver them to elderly people who would otherwise have nothing to open and no one knocking at the door

Here is how you can help

Donate a gift for a local older person
Think warm cozy and practical items as well as small treats and festive goodies

You can drop off your gift at Morrisons in Leigh Sports Village This is our main collection point for the campaign

If you would like to go a step further you can also include a handwritten card or note A few kind words can mean the world to someone who has spent days or even weeks without a proper conversation

Your generosity will not just fill a hamper it will remind an older neighbor that they are seen valued and cared for this Christmas

For the past two years, Samantha has shown incredible commitment and genuine care in everything she does. Her warmth, reliability and calm presence make such a difference to the clients she supports. She represents our values beautifully and brings a real sense of compassion to every visit.

💚 Cassandra – 1 Year of Service

In her first year with us, Cassandra has already made a huge impact. Her positivity, patience and dedication shine through in her work, and she continues to grow and inspire those around her. She brings energy and kindness wherever she goes.

🌺 Remembrance Sunday 🌺

Today we take a moment to pause, reflect, and honour all those who have served our country — from the heroes of the First and Second World Wars to those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts since.

Their courage, resilience, and unwavering sense of duty have protected the freedoms we hold dear. Many left their homes, families, and loved ones behind, asking for nothing in return but the hope of a safer, more peaceful world.

At Home Instead Leigh, we are proud to stand with our community in remembering them, the fallen, the veterans, and those still serving today. Their legacy lives on in our gratitude, our freedom, and our continued commitment to care for others with compassion and respect.

As the nation falls silent today, we remember not only their sacrifice, but also their humanity, bravery, and love of country.

Is it too early for a Christmas post? 🎄😂

Ian’s wasted no time getting into the festive spirit, he’s already been out scouting Christmas trees and found his favourite one! You’ve got to admire the man’s commitment to Christmas cheer even if the rest of us are still trying to remember where we packed away last year’s decorations!

There’s just something about seeing the lights, the colours, and that bit of sparkle that makes everything feel a little brighter, isn’t there? ✨

We might still be weeks away, but Ian says it’s never too early to start celebrating and honestly, looking at that grin, we think he might be right.

Who else is secretly (or not-so-secretly) ready to bring out the tree and turn the tunes up to Mariah Carey levels? 🎅🎶
