🏃‍♀️ Move It or Lose It: Why Movement is Medicine 💊

Did you know? Movement is just as crucial as diet in preventing disease! 🥗🤸‍♂️

From boosting your gut microbiome to reducing blood clot risks, movement is a powerhouse for health. 💪

But here's the thing: You don't need to run marathons or hit the gym 24/7! It's all about finding what works for YOU. 🌟

Maybe it's:
· A quick dance party while cooking 🕺
· Taking the stairs instead of the elevator 🚶‍♀️
· Stretching during TV commercials 🧘‍♂️

Remember: Consistency beats intensity. Make movement a daily habit, just like brushing your teeth!

As the weather gets warmer, it's worth checking to see if your bottle of sunscreen is still effective.

The longer a bottle of sunscreen is open, the less effective it is at protecting you. If you’re using the same sunscreen from last summer, check that it hasn’t expired.

Very happy to say I will be opening for face to face consultations from Thursday 15th April.
There are still government, and professional, guidelines I will be rigorously adhering to and my Covid-19 safety measures will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
On-line remote consultations have been very well received and will continue into the future for clients far and wide who like this approach. Should I decide you need face to face care after your virtual assessment I have access to a network of practitioners around the country I can refer you on to.
Drop me a message,or give me a call, if you are struggling with musculoskeletal pain, mobility, injury, post surgery rehab, or you are just not sure how to get back to your activities or athletic fitness.
Happy Monday to you all 😊

Hello one and all, I hope this finds you keeping well and feeling more positive now that the vaccine is rolling out nicely 🤞🏻! I have popped the UK easing lockdown road map into a photo for your easy reference, please feel free to share it.
Having returned to providing urgent face to face clinic care in October the arrival of the UK Covid-19 variant, and subsequent lockdown, has put me back into my Virtual Clinic for a little while longer. I will be reviewing the data week by week but please contact me if you are struggling with pain or an injury, general rehabilitation or just want to move your physical wellbeing or sporting goals to a different level. I have provided virtual consultations and screening prior to ,and throughout, the pandemic. If assessed virtually should I feel you need to be seen face to face I have a network of qualified colleagues around the country whose clinics are currently open that I can refer you to. So rest assured your needs can be professionally evaluated and met wherever you live in the UK.
As the cases and hospital admissions drop, and the information regarding transmission post vaccination becomes clearer, I will re-open my physical clinic in Leighton Buzzard.
Have a good day and even if you have had your vaccine, for the time being to protect others, we must all remember it is still,

As the lockdown gets progressively lifted being mindful of those around us, who may be finding returning to everyday activities difficult, is an act of kindness. Face masks become mandatory in shops next week so my next few posts are infographics to demonstrate the key mask message. This one demonstrates the effect of wearing a surgical facemask. The scientific evidence for the recommended cloth face coverings is still emerging but also indicates greater protection. If you are concerned for health reasons about wearing a mask and would like some advice please drop me a message. TakeControl Physio continues to offer On-Line Initial Appointments for all your Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Needs. Gradual return to Face-2-Face Consults following our professional guidelines will resume shortly. Keep safe and well everyone and thanks for your support.

For those of you that find wearing a mask difficult check out this video, from a Canadian Respiratory Physiotherapist, for some guidance.
