Last shift this evening! It’s been a rollercoaster ride and an amazing time.

Highlights:

β€’ getting to drive the buggy around the athletes village to drop an athlete off at the MRI scanner πŸ€—

β€’ seeing and treating a few familiar faces!

β€’ a lovely athlete bringing us pizza on shift last night (the workforce only have cold food available to us πŸ˜”)

β€’ making new physio friends πŸ₯°

β€’ no longer having to lug around the medical kit (see picture) to training venues as they’re all finished now!

Home for a few days πŸ˜…!

Highlights of my CWG 2022 journey so far…

πŸ‘ catching a lift with the Team England ladies hockey team on their way to beat Ghana 12-0

πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ spending 2 mornings at the training pool watching the likes of Adam Peaty & James Wilby do their thing…not to mention the rest of Team England, the Australians, South Africans, Indians, Canadians & Team Scotland!

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ watching & treating the athletes at the athletics practice venue - these guys are fast πŸ’¨

πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ spending a morning with the rhythmic gymnasts - how do you help a world class gymnast stretch??

🌍 meeting athletes and coaches from all over the world and hearing stories of their lives back home, especially the tiny island nations! Most of them even like our weather πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

🏑 walking around the athlete village spotting the flags of the nations competing & looking for familiar faces

πŸ‘« meeting my fellow volunteers & swapping stories πŸ˜†

…and, I’m only 1/2 way through my shifts! Now for some sleep, normal food & time with the family before I do it all again later in the week πŸ€—

Hello lovely people.
With the final easing of restrictions imminent, I would like to reassure my patients that I will be continuing to wear full PPE and follow the strict cleanliness protocols that I have had in place for the last year.
The latest advice is that members of the public should continue to wear a face covering in healthcare settings. Due to the close contact nature of Physiotherapy, I will respectfully ask those attending their appointments to continue to wear a mask in the treatment room.
If anyone plans to attend and prefers not to wear a mask, please call me at least a day before your appointment so I can make any necessary arrangements and ensure my more vulnerable patients are not put at risk.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support ❀️

Physios in hospitals and the community will be leading the way when it comes to recovery. πŸ’ͺ❀️🌈

Getting adequate rest is vital for people recovering from Covid-19, but too much rest can slow recovery down, weaken muscles and make injuries more likely.

Re-opening for physio appointments soon. Get in touch if you have any questions. More details to follow...

To all of my lovely patients...Please be advised at this time that I plan to keep the clinic open and running normally for as long as possible. I am observing a stringent cleanliness and sanitising regime, however, if you feel you would rather not attend your appointment or have any symptoms of any illness, then please contact me to postpone or re-arrange your treatment. I will, of course, update you if anything changes and continue to monitor the situation.
