We understand it can be frustrating if you have a long wait for your call to be answered. Please be assured our team is working as quickly as possible to respond to every call, though some enquiries may take longer than others to handle.
Thank you to the many patients who continue to treat our team with kindness and understanding.

📢 Friendly reminder 📢
If you have access to Anima or access to your own online IT, please submit an Anima form to see a GP rather than contacting reception.
We’re always happy to support and help where needed, but avoidable calls can significantly clog our phone lines and impact patients who need urgent assistance or those requiring support to complete the form.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding 💙

The Mortimer Medical Practice is a rural dispensing practice. Dr Robert Williams started the practice over a hundred years ago at the Croase House, Kingsland. Since then we have expanded to five partners and two assistants, looking after around 8700 patients. The main surgery, Croase Orchard Surgery at Kingsland, was completed in 1989. The impressive purpose-built surgery contains five consulting rooms, a nurses’ treatment room and a Healthcare Assistants’ treatment room. A new annexe originally for the District Nurses and Health Visitors, Secretary and Practice Manager was completed in 2000. This now also houses our dispensary.
Five miles away in Millbrook Way at Orleton, is the Orleton branch surgery. This was converted from a bungalow in 1982 and was upgraded in 2002. It contains one consulting room, a treatment room and a dispensary.
Nine miles north of Kingsland is the Leintwardine branch surgery. Leintwardine Surgery merged with the Kingsland and Orleton Surgery in 2001 to form the Mortimer Medical Practice. A new purpose-built surgery was opened in Leintwardine in 2014 which has three consulting rooms, two treatment rooms, a minor ops room and a dispensary.
All three surgeries are accessible by wheelchair and are computer linked which aids transfer of information.
You can register with our GP surgery, as long as you live within its catchment area. Visits to the surgery are free.
If it is not an immediate emergency then call NHS 111. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can advise you on the best local service for the care you need. Telephone consultations and triage (an assessment of how urgent your medical problem is) are an important part of all out-of-hours care.
