Jackie's Drop-In Centre Jackie's Drop-In Centre is a Social Centre for those with disabilities aged 18 + It is a Drop-In Centre for vulnerable adults with disablities.

Jackie's Drop-In Centre has been open now since the middle of January 2012, we started with only 6 members but now have in the region of 400 members and its still growing. We have something for everyone, including TV/cinema room, PS4 x1 Xbox oneS x3, 86inch Wall mounted Tv connected to Xbox Kinect, karaoke on Wednesdays & Fridays, Music Theropy on a Thursday, a large Arts & craft room, internet & safety enabled All in one computers, Music room with lots of instruments, 50p Pool table & Pool tournaments on a Thursday, Sensory Room, Sensory Garden with Gardening Club, table football, Arcade machines x2 we also have discos on set occasions in the evening, we visit the local theatres supporting all the local performance groups, day trips to Hemsby twice a year and much much more. From around 1903 to 1958, Letchworth Garden City enforced a ban on public houses and the sale of alcohol. This policy was introduced by the town’s early founders and residents, many of whom were wealthy social reformers, spiritualists, and pacifists who formed a strong influence within the community at the time. The ban was intended to address social problems such as domestic violence, drunkenness, and poverty. Ebenezer Howard, the founder of the Garden City movement, supported this approach. In place of pubs, Letchworth encouraged the development of cafés, clubs, and community halls to promote healthier forms of social life.
