😋👩‍🍳🏠Wonderful Wednesday menu at today - residents chose between blue cheese & leek tart with a celeriac remoulade, or carbonara pasta bake. For dessert there was a banana split! We are proud of our person led care at Lime Tree, so chef caters for everyone, be it a requirement or a preference.

🧀👩‍🍳Time for some seasonal baking at - residents worked with Kate to make cheese & wild garlic scones 😋Baking is a very sensory activity, & great for reminiscence too… & all with a delicious result! Resident Jenny said “what a lovely flavour this has” when she tasted a scone.

🥰🐶We love a four legged visitor at - resident Jean was thrilled to meet her family’s new puppy after Easter, & as you can see, puppy was pleased to meet Jean too! We encourage well behaved animal visitors at Lime Tree; this is valuable interaction for our residents with proven benefits.

💗A double birthday week at this week - residents Vera & Diana celebrating just a day after each other. All our residents receive a hand chosen present; we are proud of our person led approach at .
Of course there was cake with candles at supper time for both ladies!

😋🍰Always time for baking at - residents recently did some reminiscence baking with Kate, and made seed cake. This sponge flavoured with caraway seeds is a real old fashioned favourite, and was very much enjoyed by everyone! Baking is sociable, great exercise and practises hand-eye coordination skills, as well as being dementia friendly.

🪺🐇Easter continued at yesterday, with an Easter egg hunt, and piñata! Residents were guided around the egg hunt with Kate & carer Casey, following clues & looking for the golden egg at the end! The piñata bashing was also fun, with resident Cyril being the breakthrough man! (🪅Beryl said “we all softened it up for you!”) Afterwards we listened to Easter hymns while we had a cup of tea & of course, a hot cross bun 😋

🇮🇹We celebrated in our latest adventure around the world at this week! Each month we celebrate the food and culture of a new country. Residents enjoyed lasagne or ravioli for lunch, with garlic bread - this was very much enjoyed. For dessert there was tiramisu. There was a glass of wine for anyone who wanted one. After lunch we learnt some interesting facts about Italy, chatted about food, and had a quick quiz. We also tasted some authentic Parmesan from chef - described variously as salty, fresh, interesting, strong & yummy! For April we are visiting France!

🥳Today at we present our first ‘Lime Tree Legend’ award! Our manager Stacey has decided to publicly celebrate & acknowledge the dedication, hard work & commitment of our fabulous staff team. Each month a different member of staff will be chosen by Stacey for this award. This month our amazing Activities Coordinator Kate is the first recipient - Kate has embraced our use of AYLA, a groundbreaking digital therapy treatment for dementia. Kate is dedicated to delivering these sessions, & has spoken passionately to visiting professionals & her peers in our group homes & beyond, about the benefits & challenges that implementing AYLA bring.
Well done Kate - a very deserved award, and a great start for our Lime Tree Legends! Watch out next week for our first ever Lime Tree Legend RESIDENTS award…

🍀🐇Have you bought your yet for the grand Easter competition!?! The prize is this magnificent giant egg stuffed full of Easter goodies. It’s just £1 a strip of tickets, and open to all residents, visitors, staff and visiting professionals. All proceeds will go to a a treat for ALL our residents, and we will draw the winner on Tuesday the 7th April. Please see Kate or the main office to buy your tickets!
