😋👩‍🍳💗 residents got busy baking this week - shortbread is our absolute favourite; a brilliant reminiscence bake as everyone has made shortbread at some point! We ate the biscuits we made the next day with a cup of tea. Resident Sheila said “that was a very good biscuit!” and Beryl (who helped to make them) said “I used to make shortbread all the time - these were delicious” An enjoyable afternoon with a tasty outcome! 🍪

🪻🏠🌷 at - last month residents spent a happy afternoon tidying, deadheading and replanting the pots & troughs for our front door. The bulbs are all flowering now, and they look lovely!! It’s important to mark the seasons - gardening is a super dementia-friendly activity!

🌦️☔️🌬️🌱 residents got busy earlier this month creating a new set of signs for our activities notice board - February of course! We thought about the weather, nature, & Valentine’s Day too! These signs really brighten up the notice board, we hope you agree? Soon be time to start work on our signs…

😋🍽️Our Thursday menu at is as delicious and comforting as ever - residents chose between corned beef hash with a fried egg on top, or kedgeree with a poached egg! For dessert there was chocolate cheese cake. Of course chef caters for all dietary requirements or anyone who just fancied something different - today he made a fresh meat salad, for example. We are proud of our person centred care at Lime Tree House!

🥞💗😬 had much fun pancake tossing yesterday - we learnt all about the history of Shrove Tuesday, all had a go at flipping a pancake, then had a mini quiz on the story behind this feast day. For supper there were pancakes with a choice of toppings - but we nearly all agree that the best is lemon & sugar!

🎉🍬💗Our Valentines competition at finished today - Kate emptied & counted the hearts from the jar, and there were……94 in total! Nobody guessed spot on, but congratulations to Paul; visiting resident Vera, who guessed closest with 95 🎉. Vera is going to look after the sweets for Paul - let’s hope there are some left by the time you visit again Paul!

💗Love was in the air on at ! Our resident couple, Janet & Don, were treated to a romantic lunch a deux! Chef went to extra lengths to theme today’s lunch for everyone, with lovely heart touches. Residents chose between chicken pie with a heart shaped top, or a salmon fillet with a creamy chive sauce. For dessert there was a chocolate brownie heart for everyone… Carer Carmen helped Janet with her hair, make up & jewellery. We are proud of our person (couple) centred approach at Lime Tree House!

🤩❤ Our manager Stacey decided to surprise the staff and residents with a random act of kindness, handing out yummy cookies with a individual heartfelt message from her to them. Stacey says " kindness is a love made visible, people will never forget how you make them feel."❤🍪
