It's been a while since I last posted but I have spent a lot of time with my Diabetes Support Group which has celebrated its first anniversary recently. When I offer them nutritional advice they always seem surprised that I recommend eating cheese, cooking with butter and lard and not avoiding full fat milk. As these all contain saturated fat they say "are you trying to give me a heart attack?" The simple answer is that saturated fat is not, and has never been, the bad guy in our diet. That title must go to the evil trio of sugar, wheat flour and industrial seed oils. We all need to understand how healthy, natural foods have been replaced by harmful, processed foods over the last 70 years.
