Parris Lawn Care Home Nestled near Lewes, East Sussex, with South Downs views, Parris Lawn Care Home provides residential, nursing, dementia & palliative care.

Residents can enjoy a beautiful Parris themed courtyard, bistro café, cinema, hair salon and landscaped gardens. Parris Lawn is in Ringmer, a pretty village just a few miles from the bustling town of Lewes in East Sussex. We're only half an hour from the seaside towns of Brighton and Eastbourne, and we enjoy some beautiful views over the South Downs. All of the 62 rooms is individually-styled and has an en-suite wet room. We have our own cinema, bistro café and hair salon too, enabling your loved one to continue to enjoy a wonderful lifestyle. We're often popping out for outings and day trips. We go wherever residents fancy - to the seaside or for a browse around the shops. New residents benefit from a personalised wellbeing plan during their initial 14 days. If you're a little unsure of what type of care is needed, we're happy to help with the details.

The residents and team at Parris Lawn Care Home would like to wish the most wonderful of 93rd birthdays to our very own Mr. P 🥳!

A beautiful and tasty chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry birthday cake was handmade and delivered by Neil and his dedicated team of chefs, Nick and Callum. As you can see, it was one of those creations that shows the passion our catering team have for our residents 🎂.

Happy Birthday Mr. P. It was a pleasure spending the big day with you and your loving family 🫶.

St Patrick's Day at Parris Lawn Care Home 🍀.

The residents and Simona started the day by producing the tastiest batch of homemade bread and it went down a treat! What a great job 🍞!

After lunch it was time for Guiness and an afternoon dance and singsong to some beautiful Irish folk music 💃.

An overly fun day was had by all ☺️...

Please join the team Parris Lawn Care Home as we say goodbye and wish the best of luck to our dedicated Home Manager Costin 🫶.

From Deputy Manager through working your way up to Home Manager, you have been approachable, professional, and someone we can all lean on in our moment of need. Your resident first attitude, attention to detail, and knowledge when it comes to nursing really has shone through and led the way for us to be a real success as a home.

Although he never mentioned it 😉, the journey from home to work every day was a long one and without his willingness for our home to be the best, he may have found it a struggle.

Now he moves on to pastures new, closer to his beautiful family, which will allow him to have the best work/life balance.

We thank you, we believe in you, and we will miss you 🥹!

She embraces proactivity and this is one of her many strengths. Never a case of 'someone else will do that', or 'that's not my job', Dana will always make moves to rectify or correct something before it becomes an issue.

The team and event attendees Parris Lawn Care Home would like to give a huge thank you to the wonderful Chris Elsley ⭐️.

Last week in the home we held an informative evening where Chris delivered our Understanding Dementia Workshop for external visitors. Packed with eye opening facts, she gave us the tools to assist us if a loved one was living with Dementia.

Aside to this, Chris once again delivered refresher training to our teams and colleagues over a two day period. Keeping up to date and well-informed gives us the power to be the best we can be and to take the pressure off of family members, allowing them to feel more at ease and supported throughout.

Thank you, Chris. We couldn't do it without you 🤝.

The resident wishes from the Parris Lawn Care Home wishing tree are coming to life 🌳!

First up was a trip to the Zoo 🐘, where Mr. K and Mrs. P were the first names out of the hat to make their wishes come true 💫.

Highlights of the day were definitely Mr. K mocking a T-Rex (bet he wouldn't have done that to a real one though 😉), and Mrs. P's face when she first saw the cheeky monkey make an appearance 🐒!

Our colleagues Simona and Nikki were the zoo tour guides for the morning and what a great job they did. They really enjoyed being out and about in a different setting with our residents, building a strong bond and learning more about them as the day went on 🫶.

🍽️ Supporting Residents with Dysphagia – With Skill, Care and Creativity

Last week, our Head Chefs came together for an advanced training workshop focused on supporting residents who live with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). The session was led by Andy Cullum, National Trainer for International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI), giving our chefs the opportunity to further enhance their knowledge and practical skills.

So what does this mean for residents and families?

✔️ Safer dining experiences, reducing the risks associated with swallowing difficulties
✔️ Meals tailored precisely to individual texture needs using the IDDSI framework
✔️ Food that remains nutritious, recognisable and beautifully presented
✔️ Encouraging residents to eat with confidence, pleasure and dignity

From recreating full traditional meals across multiple texture levels to learning how to test consistency accurately, the workshop reinforced how creativity and consistency work hand-in-hand to deliver truly person-centred care.

Because mealtimes should always be something to enjoy 💜

A big thank you to Foundry Healthcare Lewes for joining our residents at Parris Lawn Care Home this morning 🫶.

The coffee was hot, the pastries were freshly made, and the sun was shining through the window ☀️.

We are very appreciative of the time they spend with us all. Never in a rush, always happy to chat, and always happy to take their time and listen 🤝.
