A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of
patients, carers and GP practice staff who meet
to discuss practice issues and patient experience
to help improve the service.
Since April 2015, it has been a contractual
requirement of NHS England for all GP practices
to have a PPG and to make reasonable efforts for
this to be representative of the practice
population. The Aims of the Patient Participation Group
are for patients to have a say in how facilities and services are planned at the practice and the wider NHS.
For patients to support the practice with good health promotions, preventative medicine and health literacy.
To bring a sense of partnership between the practice and the patients and to improve two way communication between patients, the practice & the community.
