Dental nurses play a vital role in ensuring the operation of dental practices. From assisting dentists during procedures to comforting anxious patients, their skills and expertise are invaluable. Their ability to create a warm and welcoming environment helps patients feel at ease, making their dental experience more comfortable.
Their knowledge and attention to detail are crucial in maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilisation. Their commitment to following protocols and guidelines ensures the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff.
Our nurses definitely go above and beyond their job descriptions with additional roles such as ad hoc maintenance and IT engineering! Dealing with patients’ dental anxieties and managing challenging situations requires patience and empathy.

Blue Wednesday

Blue Wednesday is today November 12th and we are asking you to do this very simple thing:

A self-check for mouth cancer takes 45 seconds and can save your life.

For Blue Wednesday we want to encourage as many people as possible to check their mouth for the early warning signs of mouth cancer.

Help us get more people regularly checking themselves for mouth cancer because early diagnosis is vital for beating the disease.

Spotting mouth cancer early can significantly change a person’s quality of life.

November is Mouth Cancer Awareness Month. In preparation for Blue Wednesday tomorrow we are sharing a useful video showing how to self check at home for mouth cancer. During examination/oral health check appointments at the practice our clinicians perform these checks. Questions about use of to***co and alcohol are also important to answer as both will increase the risk of developing oral cancer.
