Cortisol is the hormone symbol of stress because its production increases in conditions of severe psycho-physical stress, or in situations of constant and prolonged stress. The everyday life we are living because of the pandemic and lockdown is certainly a stressful situation: the forced and endless cohabitation with one's partner, parents, children due to quarantine, as well as not being able to go out, meet friends, or embrace family, put a strain on our nervous system and can trigger anxiety, stress, aggressiveness. What can our voice do to help us?

Our voice is a powerful ally to counteract this stress: using our voice simply to sing or to generate vibrations within the body has a highly positive effect because it reduces the level of cortisol in the blood, induces the production of hormones and neurotransmitters related to well-being such as oxytocin and dopamine, normalizes the heartbeat and relaxes the nervous and muscular system.
