NOW based in Leyland. Academically, I studied and obtained a B.Sc in Human Genetics (University of Nottingham 1999), followed by an M.Sc in Computer Science (University of Aberystwyth 2001). For 20 years I have been using both as a Chartered and European Patent Attorney, helping people to protect their inventions and their trade marks. Having received the Reiki attunement, passed down from my Master Teacher, I am now a Usui Reiki practitioner and a Holistic Therapist. Contrary to popular opinion, I do not find my scientific background to be contradictory to my Reiki practice – I have never been a typical scientist or lawyer: in fact, with my detailed understanding of molecular biology and some knowledge of physical energy, I find it easier than most to understand the dynamics and effects of the energy all around us. I also have an excellent understanding of the human body. Spiritually, challenging experiences in my early life leading up to my early 20s guided me to discover Shamanism and aura and energy work, when I undertook a number of spiritual programmes and training courses in this area. By studying and learning how the energy can be manipulated with pure intention and compassion, I have more recently been able to overcome some significant blocks in my personal and professional life. Whilst the learning can never be said to be complete, Usui Reiki has proven an invaluable tool. I have reached a stage where some difficult de-programming has provided me with a much deeper understanding of my authentic self and helped me to achieve a more joyful balance in life.
