In view of the fact that disinfection and sanitisation is now very important, I thought it may be useful to inform people of how to make their own sanitiser. This is from my own experience and I don't claim to be qualified as an Aromatherapy practitioner. I am only trying to be helpful.
Tea Tree Oil has many uses but is well known for it's anti-microbial and sanitising qualities and antimicrobial products kill or slow the spread of bacteria, VIRUSES, protozoans and fungi such as mould and mildew.
Lavender also has many uses but is well known for its use as an anti-inflammatory and skin healer.
Aloe Vera possesses anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral , anti-fungal, anti-oxidant and astringent qualities.
For approx 100 ml of hand-sanitiser, in a bowl mix two parts (one part = 30 ml) rubbing alcohol (chemist or on-line), one part aloe vera gel (on-line or health shop) and 10 drops each of tea tree oil and lavender oil. Whisk until you have a gel then decant into bottles. Make sure you prepare this in a clean environment and that all tools used are clean.
You can also use Tea Tree, Lavender and Aloe Vera oils to make a room spray (25 drops of oils to 100 ml distilled water) and use this around the house or around people when they come into the house.
Quality oils, gel and bottles can be found reasonably at online retailers such as E-bay.
