We offer everyone a comprehensive eye examination - which includes OCT deep tissue scanning at a small extra cost. NHS patients are most welcome and receive the same attention and great service as private patients would expect to receive. We have a dedicated contact lens optician in the practice, who can fit virtually any type of lens to any type of patient. All our glasses come fully custom fitted to ensure your comfort. No slipping, no pinching, no ‘wonky-donkey-Jeremy-Corbin-spex! We have a great range of glasses for children and teens too, some of which are FREE with an NHS voucher. Can you still read a number plate from 20 metres away?
That’s the legal standard for driving in the UK…and if you can’t, your eyesight might not meet DVLA requirements.
Regular eye tests aren’t just about getting new glasses…they’re essential for keeping your licence and staying safe on the road.
And as we head into winter, when the nights are darker, the roads wetter, and visibility is reduced, clear vision matters more than ever. 🌧️🌙
Here’s what to know…
The DVLA requires all drivers to be able to read a number plate from 20 metres.
You should have an eye test at least every 2 years…or sooner if you notice any changes.
Poor vision, glare, outdated prescriptions and scratched lenses can make night driving and bad weather even more challenging.
If it’s been a while since your last test, book in today and make sure your vision is road ready!
