It’s Children's Mental Health Week.

looks at how reading supports children's mental health by giving a strong foundation for healthy emotional development as they grow, providing gentle yet vital support in helping children process how they are feeling.

Books can provide a welcome distraction and also create a safe space to enable them to talk about their feelings with a trusted adult.

Books can also become a vehicle for discussion of difficult topics, providing children with the ability to discuss painful issues but with the emotional safety of being one step removed.

Happy new year!

Why not make your New Year's resolution to read more books together?

There are so many benefits to reading with your child. When children snuggle with parents Oxytocin is released, this love and cuddle hormone makes your entire physiology work better plus children will come to associate books with this loved up feeling.
It is so good for attachment building & bonding and even a few minutes a day is really good as a form of 1:1 time for both of you!
