Maturation is so confronting because it asks us to walk directly toward what we have avoided for so long. It asks us to sit in discomfort, to stop running, to stop numbing, and to meet the truth of the heartbreak - the little girl or boy within us still colouring the way we see ourselves and the world.

But what if the very thing we are avoiding is the thing that can set us free? If there is one truth I have learned on my journey, it is that I only ever truly grow when I choose discomfort, when I hold my heart and move through the layers of protection I built when the world told me it wasn’t safe to live fully. And yet, to live with an open heart is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced - to sit with discomfort and then feel the sweetness of aliveness when light breaks through the pain is what makes us human.

Don’t waste your precious life running from your own aliveness. The time is now. But you have to choose it - nobody can move through the discomfort for you. And when you are ready, the teacher always arrives. 🌹

Becoming aware of the beliefs, the stories, the identities I’ve built just to survive, and realising that they aren’t all true. That maybe they never were. And slowly, over time, beginning to detach from what I thought was 100% real… and starting to see that it was just a layer. That there is something deeper, more authentic, more me, underneath.

It’s like I’ve been cracking myself open, not in a broken way, but in a revealing way. Proving to myself that I can trust myself. That I am valuable. That my unique expression is not just allowed, but needed. It is vital. It matters. It deserves to be born into the world.

And every time I turn toward myself, toward my body, and I slow down and I listen, I strengthen that muscle. The more I do that, the more I begin to crack the glass box I’ve been living in. The more I begin to see where I’ve been seeing from, how I’ve been shaped, where I’ve been performing, and where I’m actually living.

It’s such a deep piece: the moment we realise we’ve been performing, and we let the truth in. There’s often a part of us, the inner victim, that wants to move through, be heard, be felt. And that part is important. Because when we listen to her, we start to reclaim choice.

Whether it’s the decisions I make for myself or for my children.
Whether it’s the way I teach, or how I hold space for my clients.
Whether it’s the unique gift that flows through me when I’m deeply present.

All of it comes from that same place: the more I return to myself, the more I trust my voice. The less the outer noise has power over me. The more I can feel what’s true, and actually live from that place.

So much of our suffering doesn’t come from the experience itself.
It comes from our resistance to the experience.

The part of us that thinks it should be more exciting.
More meaningful.
More alive.

But what if life doesn’t need to be fixed, changed, or made better?
What if the moment we stop trying to make something happen is the moment something new becomes possible?

This is the heart of the work I do.
Not just shifting what we see, but clearing where we’re seeing from.

Because so often, we’re seeing through old stories.
Unconscious beliefs.
Places in us that have been rejected or made wrong.

And we don’t even realise we’re doing it.
Trying to feel better. Trying to be more open. Trying to enjoy the moment.

It’s subtle.

It can sound like,
“Life should feel more vibrant.”
“I should feel something by now.”
“This isn’t how it’s supposed to be.”

A client recently shared something so honest.
She was on holiday, feeling a bit flat and disconnected. She had imagined the experience would feel more nourishing and expansive. Instead, it felt a bit dull.

But through the work we’ve been doing, she was able to notice the part of her that was trying to make it feel different. And more importantly, she could see where she was seeing from, the part of her that believed the moment needed to be more than it was.

And it that noticing, she stopped.
She let herself be exactly where she was.

She started to notice the breeze. The people walking past. The smallness of the moment. And with that, something opened. Not through effort, but through allowing. She opened herself to life and through that ironically also started feeling better.

This is what becomes possible when we stop performing presence and actually arrive.
When we stop chasing an experience and start meeting what’s already here.

This is the work of bodymind maturation.
Not overriding, bypassing or fixing.

But being with.
So that you can live from presence, not the idea of what should be.
From openness and not resistance.

And from that place, things do begin to shift.
Not because you forced them to.
Because you finally made space for them to arrive through you. ❤️
