I will be finishing work for the Christmas break today 🎄 I’m back seeing clients and answering emails on the 30th December and 2nd January.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all of my wonderful clients and followers a peaceful and gentle festive season. Thank you so much for your support over this last year. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Christmas isn’t always joyful for everyone. Be kind to yourself. If you feel you need support over this period there are lots of amazing organisations you can access support.

Counselling isn’t something to be ashamed of.
It isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of courage.

Counselling is like the gym for the brain 🧠
A space to pause, reflect, learn and understand why we think, feel and respond the way we do.

So many people come to therapy believing they should “just cope” or “handle it alone.”

What I so often see instead is growth, insight, confidence and self-understanding.

I’m incredibly grateful to my client for trusting the process — and for allowing me to share these words.

There is real strength in choosing to understand yourself better. 💚

I’ve spent a lovely morning in school making ‘Worry Monsters’ this is such a good activity to practice regulating breathing and, identify and manage worries 😬

We created a puddle of paint in the middle of the paper using a colour that represented their worries. Then using a straw taking a deep inhale of breath, blow through the straw slowly and steadily. Deep breaths are great for resetting the nervous system when stressed and also make very pretty pictures with paint 🎨

We then decorated our monsters and named and acknowledged our worries. Next week we will look at how to manage these and how we’d like to feel instead ❤️

I heard from a client today that I haven’t seen for a while, and their message has made my day.

They reached out to say thank you for the support they received in therapy, and to share that they’re now training to become a counsellor themselves. 🥰

Reading their words filled me with so much gratitude. To know that our work together helped them reconnect with who they are, and inspired them to want to support others in the same way, is honestly one of the greatest privileges of this profession.

The fact they thought to get in touch just to tell me really touched me. Moments like that remind me why I love what I do. Therapy doesn’t always end when sessions do — sometimes the ripple continues long after.
