Sweetness for Everyone! 🍫✨

​Our afternoon tea was a huge hit, but we made sure nobody missed out on a taste of our homemade Chocolate Pinwheels.

​Even for those who preferred to relax in their rooms, we ensured the treats were delivered to them. It was a wonderful way to bring the joy of our Baking Club treats to everyone at Cathedral Care Centre. ☕❤️

Exciting things are happening at Cathedral Care Home! 🏡✨

​We have a wonderful lineup of regular visitors and activities to keep our residents feeling their best and staying connected with the local community.

We are especially excited to announce that our Companions Programme with Lincoln College begins on Monday, 9th March! We can't wait to welcome the students every Monday afternoon.

​Our Regular Schedule:
​💇‍♀️ Hairdressing: Weekly with Kathy (alternating Tuesdays & Wednesdays)
​👣 Podiatry: Every 6 weeks with Grant
​👶 Intergenerational Fun: Fortnightly Wednesday mornings with Hippo Hollow Childcare & monthly visits from Bailgate Pre-school!
​🎶 Songs of Praises: 4th Tuesday of every month with our local church.

🐣 An Egg-stra Special Morning at Cathedral Care Centre!

​We had a blooming marvelous time this morning as we welcomed the wonderful children from Bailgate Pre-school for our Easter Egg Design Competition!

​To make the morning extra special, each of our residents was paired up with a "little buddy" from the preschool to work together on their masterpieces. The room was full of laughter, creativity, and plenty of shredded paper!

​While the talent was through the roof and every single person did a fantastic job, we have to give a special shout-out to our winning duo: Signy and Dianne!

​🍫 Sweet Treats for All
​Nobody left empty-handed today! After all that hard work, everyone sat down together to enjoy some delicious, crunchy homemade chocolate Easter nests.

​We had such a lovely time that we are already excited to see you all again next month!

🍫 Smiles, Stories, and Chocolate Nests! 🐣

​What a wonderful morning we had today for our very first Intergenerational Group with the lovely children from Hippo Hollow Childcare Corner

​There was a real buzz of excitement in the Dining room as our residents and their new "grand-friends" rolled up their sleeves to get stuck into some baking. Together, we whipped up a delicious batch of Chocolate Easter Nests!

Inclusive Fun for Everyone:
It was very important to us that every child could join in the fun safely. We made sure to meet the needs of children with nut allergies and vegetarian requirements by using Nomo chocolate and special sprinkles, so no one had to miss out on the chocolatey goodness!

​These treats aren't just for us, though—we’ve been busy little bees getting everything ready for our next big event! We are so looking forward to sharing these handmade goodies when we welcome the children from Bailgate Pre-school for their visit tomorrow, Thursday the 26th.

​It is truly heartwarming to see these special bonds starting to form. Today was a beautiful reminder of why we have started our intergenerational sessions.

We are absolutely delighted to announce the launch of our new Intergenerational Group here at Cathedral Care Home, in partnership with Hippo Hollow Childcare Corner

​Starting Tomorrow, 25th February at 10:00am, we will be welcoming a group of energetic little ones (all under 3 years old!) to join our residents for a morning of fun, laughter, and friendship.

​What to expect:
This group is all about bringing the "young at heart" together with the "young in years." Every fortnight, our lounge will be filled with:
​🎨 Creative Crafts: Collaborative art projects to decorate our home.
​🎵 Singing & Music: Classic nursery rhymes and favorite songs.
​💃 Dancing & Movement: Gentle play to get everyone wiggling!
​🧸 Shared Play: Building towers, reading stories, and making memories.

​The Heart of the Project:
Our goal is to create truly special bonds across the generations. Intergenerational play has been shown to boost spirits, reduce loneliness, and provide a wonderful sense of purpose for our residents, while the children benefit from the calm, wisdom, and undivided attention of their "grand-friends."

​When: Every fortnight (starting Feb 25th)
Time: 10:00 AM
Where: Communal Lounge, Cathedral Care Home

​We are sending a massive "paws-up" and a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful local dog groomers, Fable & Friends, for their incredibly kind donation of Easter Eggs for our upcoming Easter Raffle! 🍫✨

​Supporting our residents through community spirit means the world to us, and these prizes are going to make our raffle winners very happy.

Our Activities Coordinator recently took her own dog, Bear, to see the team at Fable and Friends, and he has come out looking absolutely lovely! If you’re looking for someone to pamper your furry best friend, we can’t recommend them enough. 🛁✂️

Love was in the air yesterday at Cathedral Care 💗 the residents absolutely loved their special valentines cards from the amazing kids at the Lincoln Carlton Academy and Lincoln Minster School. We also thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful saxophonist guest! Andrea H Sax 🎷
