Boultham Park Medical Practice

Boultham Park Medical Practice GP Practice Patients who visit a GP for a musculoskeletal (MSK) problem will instead have an appointment with an FCP physiotherapist.

The doctors and staff at Boultham Park Medical Practice are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare; this was recognised back in 2011 when the surgery was awarded the Quality Practice Award by the Royal College of Practitioners. The quality of the service we provide was further confirmed following an Inspection by the Care Quality Commission in May 2016 when we were graded good overall and in each individual area of the inspection. We provide a wide range of Primary Care service, typical of what you should expect from all GP surgeries, and run many clinics for the management of Chronic Diseases such as Asthma, COPD and Diabetes. We have other local services such as the Midwife and a Mental Health Practitioner working out of the surgery and we work closely with our health colleagues across the city. We also have a First Contact Practitioner (FCP) who is a physiotherapist professionally qualified to treat patients without a referral from a GP or other healthcare professional. Primary Care Networks have recently been introduced to help primary care providers to work more collaboratively and at scale. We are part of the Apex Primary Care Network which consists of 5 local GP Practices with a collective patient list size of approximately 52000 patients. We are also part of the Optimus Group of GP practices. These are other GP surgeries in our locality with whom we work closely across a number of areas; in particular in offering improved access for appointments outside of our normal core hours. Boultham Park Medical Practice is also a Training Practice. This involves training the doctors and nurses who have chosen to specialise in primary care and who we all will need to look after us in the future!

MMRV stands for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (chickenpox).

From 1 January 2026, the measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) vaccine will be introduced into the routine childhood immunisation schedule in the UK.

The MMRV vaccine is one of the safest and most effective ways to protect your child from four potentially serious diseases: measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chickenpox).

Vaccination side effects are normally mild, potentially occurring at different times within a few weeks but lasting only for a few days.

CLINICAL TRIAGE 🗒️

Important Update: Appointment Booking System

As of Monday, 10th November, we have introduced a new triage system to improve how appointments are booked at Boultham Park Medical Practice.

From this date, all appointment requests must be submitted via the Accurx system, accessible by clicking the “Submit a New Request” icon on our Practice website https://www.boulthamparkmedicalpractice.co.uk/

This change is designed to make accessing care quicker and more convenient for everyone.

How to Submit a Request

For urgent or same-day appointments, select “I have a health problem.”
For routine appointments or administrative requests, select “I have an admin or routine care request.”
If you are unable to submit a request online, our Patient Care Navigators will be happy to assist and submit one on your behalf. This process also applies to patients visiting the reception desk.

Our call wait times are currently longer than usual while we adjust to the new system. We kindly ask that you use the online service whenever possible to help reduce waiting times.

Nurse and HCA appointments can still be booked by telephone.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to enhance our services.

Dear Patients
Every missed appointment (Did Not Attend) has a big impact on our surgery. When an appointment is not attended and not cancelled, it:

Wastes valuable time that could have been used for another patient in need.
Increases waiting times for everyone.
Puts extra pressure on our doctors, nurses, and staff.

‼️206 GP appointments not attended between August and November!
540 Nurse appointments not attended between August and November! ‼️

If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. You can cancel by:

Calling the surgery
Using our online booking system

Your cooperation helps us provide better care for all patients. Thank you for your support.
