Most “marathon masterclasses” overcomplicate everything.
Technique rabbit-holes.
Rigid gel schedules.
Routines sold as performance hacks.
Injury-prevention promises that don't hold up.
Some of it has a place, but without context it often:
- sends runners chasing false narratives
- turns complexity into “certainty”
- promotes ritual over understanding
So I’ve put together something different.
An Evening on Marathon Preparation (27 March, Giant Store Lincoln) is a focused, expert-led evening on what actually matters in the final weeks before a marathon:
✅ taper - what’s happening physiologically and psychologically
✅ race-day strategy + decision-making under fatigue
✅ preparation that’s contextual (not one-size-fits-all)
✅ 7th fastest EVER British Marathon runner
✅ proper panel Q&A so you can ask what matters to your race
Speakers:
Abbie Donnelly (pro marathon runner)
Nicole Wells (sport & exercise psychologist)
Shane Robinson (health & performance coach)
If you’re running a spring marathon and you want clarity - not noise - you’ll get a lot from this.
Tickets: £30 early bird / £50 standard. Limited capacity. (Early bird ends 9th March)
