This new youtube video was created for one of the students of Tuesday nights Vinyasa class.... it's specifically for backs and hips. Not vinyasa, not hatha; this is using yoga poses and gentle stretching and somatic informed movement to release tension in the body. Check it out and subscribe to the channel if you do youtube led yoga at home (FYI when I waitressed my life away I couldn't afford yoga classes and for the first few years of my practice I just followed classes on youtube; its genuinely a very giving platform, you dont need to go to classes especially when on a tight budget!) :-)

A simple yoga video containing a few poses I use to release my back and hips in the morning, no vinyasas taken. This is mat based and slow on purpose to calm...

I have had these leggings since 2013. And since then pigeon pose has changed a lot for me. 2025 is the year of tight hips for me- it took me 30-40 minutes of 'warming up' to be willing and comfortable to find this "familiar" pose- this pose was difficult for me; gone are the days of fluid joints and easy-going muscles!!! 2 points I'm trying to make; 1) you dont need to buy new clothes for yoga and 2) Bodies change but efforts, intention and time spent practicing dont have to change with it.... thats the practice of yoga, there is "no loss" to be had, just changes to be experienced.

Your yoga practice is yours. No one else’s. You can benefit from yoga teachers, but you dont have to attend classes, always come back to your mat, your space.

Why is yoga still intriguing me after 13 years? Why is it still what I go to do when I’m angry, when I’m impatient, frustrated, sad, confused? Why do I coax myself to do it when I’m sluggish and more interested in lounging and avoiding life? Because all of those things are energy- reduced down they are all basic outputs from raw energy- Tamas or Rajas- and those named “moods” shift when you play with them, they alter when you alter your body and breath. This repeated practice teaches me daily that I am not my moods, nor the thoughts and identities born of those temporal or repeated moods. Watching energy dissipate through the asana practice of yoga has been a free of charge therapy- and this is why I practice daily- the physical body is the physical output of that practice but I didn’t practice to get toned- I practiced so I would be able to balance myself out. If you watch your “moods” prior to practice you will teach yourself this exact process. Yoga is experiential and it’s an inside job- seek instruction from teachers that know this, that live this learned experience and wish to share this with you- we are here only to guide one another home.

Tomorrow mornings Bailgate class is the last class I’m teaching for 4 weeks.
There is class cover in the form of Robyn for the first few weeks classes on both Tuesday and Saturday. If you want to go to those classes contact Robyn; bokettoyoga@outlook.com
I’m not reachable for the next 4 weeks- so if you have any queries I will pick them up on my return. The first lesson I’m teaching again is 30th September, which is on sale on the SumUP shop (link in bio).

A short 30 minute Vinyasa class for you guys, recently added to the YouTube channel, this channel is aimed at those of you who might want to practice between lessons with a familiar style.

Practice at your own speed. Pause the video to work on something if you wish to. This class has a moderate tempo. It’s a 30 minute vinyasa flow! Enjoy!
