Today was a lovely one at L J Fairburn & Son.

We were proud to welcome the National Trust and students from the King Edward Academy to the farm for a tree planting session in one of our free-range hen paddocks.

Helping to create an even better environment for our birds to roam and thrive.

Planting trees in free-range areas does so much more than shape the landscape. It creates natural shelter, encourages biodiversity, offers shade and cover for the hens.

It also supports a healthier, more enriching environment for them to live in.

It was brilliant to see young people getting hands-on, learning more about farming, sustainability and the small but important changes that can make a real difference for the future.

A great day for the farm, for the birds, and for the next generation.
