You don't have to wait until you're broken to rest.

So often, we tell ourselves we'll slow down when things get really bad. When the tension becomes pain. When the tiredness becomes something we can't push through any more.

But your body doesn't need to reach that point before it deserves care.

Gentle Release Therapy isn't only for the difficult moments. It can also be a quiet space to check in with yourself before things build up.

A chance to let your nervous system settle.

A moment to soften what you didn't even realise you were holding.

Sometimes the kindest thing we can do is offer ourselves that space before we need it, not after.

You don't have to be in crisis to be worthy of stillness. 🤍

Your face tells a story.

Not just in the lines and expressions we see in the mirror, but in the tension we carry without even realising it.

A clenched jaw from a stressful week. A furrowed brow that's been holding on for months. Tightness around the eyes that we've stopped noticing because it's just... always there.

In traditional Chinese medicine, the face has long been understood as a reflection of what's happening in the whole body. It was believed that the skin, the muscles, even the lines we develop can offer a window into our inner balance.

That's part of what makes EnerQi Facial Rejuvenation so different from a traditional facial.

It's not just about the skin on the surface.

Using gentle tools like jade gua sha, facial cups, and an acupressure roller, alongside the Gentle Release techniques you may already know, EnerQi works with the face as part of the whole person.

Supporting lymphatic flow. Encouraging circulation. And gently allowing the facial muscles to soften and release the tension they've been holding.

It's a treatment that offers space for both the face and the nervous system to settle.

Sometimes the most beautiful thing isn't what we add, but what we allow ourselves to let go of. 🤍

There are no words that align with the magnitude of what is coming to light right now.

So many thoughts swirling round my head and a deep sadness for everyone affected — directly and indirectly.

Sending love doesn't seem enough either, but lets start with that 🤍

The start of the new 9 year cycle with Chinese New Year felt like the right time to make a change.

Over the past year or so, many of our practitioners have naturally begun adding the first four points of the Gentle Release Vagus Nerve Treatment into their sessions.

Not because it was required.
But because it felt right in the moment.

The results have been consistently positive.
Clients feeling calmer.
More settled.
Better able to regulate.

So we’ve restructured the Gentle Release Practitioner Training to now include these first four vagus nerve points as part of the core training.

This isn’t about adding complexity.
It’s about strengthening what we already know works.

The foundations remain the same, gentle, intuitive, safe.
And now practitioners will leave with this additional layer of nervous system support woven in from the beginning.

It feels like a natural next step in this new cycle.

For the ones who hold everyone else.

For the ones who keep showing up.
Who keep giving.
Who rarely pause long enough to receive.

You don’t have to arrive polished or certain.
You don’t have to have the answers.

There is no expectation here.
No version of you that needs to be different first.

We meet you where you are.
In the tiredness.
In the questioning.
In the quiet longing for something softer.

You can arrive as you are.
And be gently held there. 🤍

✨ Practitioner Spotlight ✨

We’re honoured to introduce Cathy Chiplen, the most kind and beautiful soul, a Gentle Release Practitioner whose work is rooted in deep compassion, presence, and care.

Cathy specialises in supporting people in grief — including baby-loss, infertility, life transitions, and those approaching the end of life. Alongside Gentle Release Therapy, she brings together reflexology, Reiki, sound healing, and her ongoing MSc studies in Loss and Bereavement with the Irish Hospice Foundation.

What stands out so clearly in Cathy’s work is her gentle understanding that grief doesn’t need fixing. Instead, Gentle Release offers the body space to accept and accommodate what is being carried — often allowing people to rest more deeply than they expected, and to leave feeling calmer, lighter, and more supported.

Cathy describes Gentle Release as
“like settling into a warm, soft blanket and resting.”

She is also a trustee and holistic therapist with Towards Tomorrow Together, and a beautiful creative soul — crafting needle-felted Spirit Dolls that support personal reflection, remembrance, and meaning.

📍 Based in Taunton, Somerset, Cathy also works with people navigating some of life’s most tender moments, always with humility, kindness, and respect.

You can find Cathy here:

This morning, my eyes were opened to see the true and deepest beauty of the alchemy of Gentle Release Therapy.

I’ve been honoured to be invited to walk alongside someone in their healing for the last month.

Gentle Release created the physical and emotional space needed for deeper release… and then the Spirit Points worked their magic behind the scenes — gently clearing the constructs we gather along the way, and the bindings they create, so that our Shen (or Spirit) can lead us back onto our true path.

Today, we walked forward to release what her Vagus Nerve had been holding so closely and resolutely. We allowed the old book to close — the one filled with wounds and stories. The book that once felt like safety, simply because it was familiar. And in what we’ve always known, there is safety… even when it’s no longer keeping us safe. The book that had been pulling the strings of her life, affecting every decision she ever made.

Never rushed, never hurried, despite the noise and pressure from the outside world.

We waited and we listened, working with what felt right in each moment, and what was truly ready to release.

Without drama, without stress, we eventually, but gently let the book fall and turn to ashes, and cut those strings for good.

My beautiful, brave client now gets to write her own story.

One place left – Practitioner Training starts this Saturday

Our Virtual Gentle Release Therapy Practitioner Training Retreat begins this Saturday, and there is only one place remaining.

The training runs live on Zoom across three full days:

• Saturday 10th January
• Sunday 11th January
• Saturday 24th January
• 9am – 5pm each day

This is a small, practical training with a maximum of 8 students.
The structure is the same as the in-person course, demonstration, practice swaps, feedback, and repetition, so you leave confident in the work.

Alongside learning the technique, the training also allows time for your own personal release — physical, emotional and spiritual.

The treatments you will both give and receive allow your own system to soften and release layers of stress, tension, and emotional build-up. This often brings more clarity, lightness, and a noticeable shift in how you feel in yourself, not through pushing, but through steady, supported practice.

You’ll receive a full course pack in advance, I can ship today by special delivery.

This training qualifies you to offer Gentle Release Therapy treatments, both in person and virtually, and is suitable for:

• existing therapists or healthcare professionals
• those with no prior training who feel called to this work

Cost:
ÂŁ455 for existing therapists / healthcare providers
ÂŁ555 with no prior training

Accredited by FHT, AOR, Thinktree and CThA.

This course is the gateway to accessing the Gentle Release Vagus Nerve, Gentle Release Advanced Practitioner and our amazing EnerQi Facial Rejuvenation Treatment.

If you’d like to take the final place, you can complete the Course Booking Form now.
If you’re unsure and want to check a detail before booking, you’re welcome to get in touch.

Ready to GO?

Welcome to the next part of my journey for Gentle Release Therapy. Since late 2017 I’ve been busy creating a training course so that others can learn the techniques and become Gentle Release Therapy Practitioners. I have applied for accreditation with both the Federation of Holistic Therapists and Thinktree Hub. Whilst I wait for approval I will be busy setting up the website and beginning to schedule the first training courses.

If you think you might be interested make sure you like and follow Gentle Release Therapy on facebook. I’m planning to organise some introductory offers, but there will be limited spaces available and they won’t last long!
