Today is International HPV Awareness Day.

💉The HPV vaccine is one of the most successful in the world. It helps protect against the human papillomarvirus (HPV), more specifically it helps protect against future cancers.

📆If your child missed getting vaccinated when they were in Year 8, the HPV vaccine is available free on the NHS for all girls under 25 and boys born after 1st September 2006.

🏫If your child still attends school, you can contact the School Age Immunisation service. If not, you will need to contact your GP surgery. It is never too late to get vaccinated.

MMRV is now part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme, replacing the MMR vaccine.

It protects against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox.

Chickenpox is very common and can sometimes lead to serious complications, so vaccination helps reduce the risk of serious illness as children grow.

You don’t need to do anything — your GP will be in touch when your child is due.

A new community cardiology website has been launched this week to support people across Lincolnshire living with heart conditions.

The new website, available at www.lincolnshirecommunitycardiology.nhs.uk, brings together clear and reliable information about community cardiology services, cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure management – all in one accessible place.

Designed for patients, carers and families, the website provides practical advice, educational resources and signposting to local services, helping people to better understand their condition and feel more confident in managing their heart health.

The website is owned and run by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and supports the Trust’s ongoing work to improve access to information, promote self-management and enhance patient experience across community cardiology services.
February is recognised nationally as Heart Month, making it a fitting time to launch a digital resource focused on caring for hearts and supporting people on their recovery journey. This reflects the Trust’s commitment to helping local communities look after what matters most.

Mo Bullen, Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist and Team Lead at LCHS, said:
“Having a dedicated, easy-to-use resource will make a real difference for our cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure patients, as well as their families and carers.
“The website gives people access to trusted information and support whenever they need it, and it complements the care we provide by helping patients feel informed, reassured and empowered throughout their recovery.
“Our service is very much focused on enabling patients to self-manage their condition, return to everyday life or slow down the progress of the disease. By visiting the new website, patients will be able to see what’s on offer, including our rehabilitation programme, exercise programme for cardiac patients, as well as support via the virtual ward and virtual clinics.”
