Childhood Vaccination Update

As of 1st January 2026, there will be an update to the UK childhood vaccination programme. The new MMRV will replace the MMR vaccine. This will offer protection against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Chicken Pox.

A first dose will be given at 12 months and a second dose at 18 months.

The vaccine is the best way to protect your child, side effects are usually mild and can occur within a few weeks, usually lasting a few days.

We are having some ongoing issues with our prescription line. This is being looked into but in the meantime, where possible, could we ask patients either hand in a paper request to the surgery or use the online service to request repeat medications.

With the countdown to Christmas now on, people are being advised to order any repeat prescription items they need ahead of the festive period.

Bank Holiday pharmacy opening times will change over the Christmas and New Year, which means that people who need medication will need to order their prescriptions by 16 December at the latest.

We are currently facing a high level of demand on our service.

Please help us and only call 999 in a life-threatening emergency, so we can get to those patients who need us most critically.

If you’ve called 999 for an ambulance, only call us back if the patient’s condition changes, or if you no longer require our service, for example if you’re making your own way safely to A&E.
