🌺 Remembrance Sunday

Every year, on the second Sunday of November, we pause to reflect, remember, and give thanks. Remembrance Sunday is our chance to honour all those who have served, and those who continue to serve, in the armed forces.

It’s a time to remember the bravery, sacrifice, and selflessness of men and women who gave their lives so that we could live in peace and freedom today. From the soldiers of the First and Second World Wars to those who have served in more recent conflicts, their courage and dedication must never be forgotten.

By coming together at memorials, services, and parades, we show that their sacrifices were not in vain. We stand in unity, across generations, to say thank you and to promise that we will always remember.

So this Remembrance Sunday, take a moment to go out, wear your poppy with pride, and join your local community in a shared act of remembrance.
Remembering is not just about the past; it’s about ensuring that the values they fought for live on in us today.

We will remember them. 🌹

🚣‍♂️ Meet Kip & Chris: Rowing the Atlantic for a Cause That Matters 🌊

We’re incredibly proud to support Kip Wells and Chris Ambler, a client's son and friend in their December challenge. They’re setting out to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, and they’ve never rowed before. Talk about starting big! 😲

Their mission? To raise funds and awareness for the Jon Egging Trust, a charity that empowers young people facing adversity to realise their potential through self-belief and resilience.

This is more than just a physical challenge; it’s a journey of determination, friendship, and purpose. Kip and Chris are pushing themselves to the limit and we’re cheering them on every stroke of the way.

“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.”

Joseph Pilates believed that physical and emotional wellbeing were inextricably linked.

When someone says fitness to you what do you think of? Exercise, nutrition, sleep, mobility, flexibility? It might conjure up images of Pilates, running, strength training, tennis, golf or cycling?

I think that it’s a full package of health and wellbeing. How we look after ourselves, how we move, what we eat, how much we sleep, how much we can be outside in the fresh air, and having friendships and community.

I’m eternally grateful for the wonderful community we have in the studio. Everyday I have the pleasure of helping people to improve their physical fitness. I watch my clients progress, become more confident, grow stronger and learn more about their own bodies. As they become more consistent it’s wonderful to see Pilates become part of who they are, rather than just another workout.

For me, Pilates and physical fitness really is the first requisite of happiness.

We’ve had some new chairs delivered to the clinic this week, and they’ve definitely been noticed!

They’re roomier and more supportive, and we’ve already had a few comments (all positive!) from clients. In fact, Richard and Kate even managed to squeeze into one together – purely in the name of research, of course! 😄

We’re proud to once again support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal here at Willow House. 💙

This year, we have a lovely selection of poppy items available for donations, including:

Traditional red poppies

Snap wristbands

Pin badges

Reflective poppies

Bracelets

Wooden remembrance crosses

Donations can be made by cash or by scanning the QR code at our display – quick and easy!

The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families — offering help with everything from recovery and rehabilitation to financial and emotional support.

Next time you're in the clinic, pop by reception and show your support. Every donation, big or small, helps.
