Additional information

Towels will be used throughout the treatment for clients comfort and dignity. Massage cream or oil’s will be used for treatments. Should you have any allergies please notify the therapist before booking commences. Our aim is to make the client feel as comfortable as possible and prior treatment the therapist will discuss with you on the routine of the massage. Please be aware massage treatment may result in bruising, rashes and delayed muscle soreness. These reactions are all normal and post treatment advice and tips will be discussed at the end of your appointment. Please note prices will differ on treatment requests, distance and locations outside of Lincoln areas, I.e NG, DN or South Yorkshire postal areas.

What do we mean by this?

Objective - what is your aim, what you want to achieve? For example, improve strength, muscle tone, decrease pain symptoms, improve flexibility…

Markers - where are you currently at, what’s your baseline, what are you currently lifting (can this be improved, have you got a plan of action?), a noticeable difference in strength between limbs…?

So many variables can be discussed…to simplify this we will be sharing examples to how you can measure where you’re currently at and moving forward to making improvements to your training and get you noticing progress towards what you want to achieve!

4 Low cost tips you can use for your recovery; increasing your water, salt and protein in take and the actual rest we are giving ourselves…

In particular adding salt to our diets is typically seen as bad and can be linked to increased blood pressures, however if managed correctly you will benefit from the replenishing factors it has. Again, consistency is a big factor. We can easily get diverted, distracted in our lives. Keeping up good habits is the key towards improved recovery in which you will notice changes sooner than you think.

Rehab isn’t pretty. It’s slow, frustrating, and humbling. Unfortunately it can take time, patience, co-operation and dedication to the cause. Trusting the process is key towards your success.

Take other considerations into account such as recovery/rest, diet, how are you managing the injury, any self therapy at home?

Be mindful reducing pain symptoms or getting back to where you want to be can be a long process. Some lows and frustrations on the way. Respect the injury and signs of improvement will be evident sooner than you think.

Have you ever considered using your body weight as a guide towards your strength and rehab goals?

Let us explain…

Typically our bodies have the capacity to lift/press up to 1.5 times of our body weight. Achieving this will improve your resistance to impact loads and reduce any likelihood of reoccurring injuries. Particularly lower limb injuries, barbell squats or leg press machines can be used towards your aim. To add progression use of unilateral techniques are suggested. This to directly focus on each side and prevent any momentum or dominant force from your opposite leg.

We do strongly suggest however this is to be built up in phases and not to be attempted straight away. Progress with your technique and form while advancing to your target 🎯

Recent shoulder complaint, however after initial assessment, good strength and range of motion in joint were noted. However discomfort’s were still present on certain positions. Use of cupping therapy we investigate further to any damage around the actual problem. As you can see different shades of red/purple have pinpointed an area that is causing the problem. This being likely fibre tears in the Rhomboids and Latissimus Dorsi effecting the shoulder function.

When identifying a pain or discomfort, think it might not be coming directly from the area you originally thought! Get assessed properly to save you further worry and avoid going down the wrong path in your recovery and rehabilitation journey!
