Recipies and Blends I did! I genuinely am passionate about essential oils.

Have you ever questioned what is in the everyday products you use on your body, your children, and around your home? For years I have always wondered what was contained in the items we use and take for granted. That chemical smell that would irritate my throat or eyes, something just told me there was a better, more natural way to clean myself and my home

This is what lead me to essential oils. For the past two years I have been using them religiously for cleaning my house, deodorant, my facial cleansing routine, pain relief for my partner and family members, antibiotics, and also for simple things like improving my mood, helping to get the kids to sleep and so much more. Essential oils have literally become ESSENTIAL to me as they enable me to reduce the toxic load in my home. So many products we use today are laden with chemicals that are harmful to our bodies, these chemicals can cause cancer, respiratory disorders, hormonal imbalance, skin conditions, and many more. Essential oils offer a viable and affordable alternative that are not only all-natural but also so so powerful. They are sourced directly from nature, found in the root, stems, bark, and leaves of plants found all across the world. They help to form the plant's own immunity and defence against microbes, bacteria, fungus, insects, and disease as well as being the fluid that regenerates and heals the plant. Our bodies are made of similar building blocks to plants, so when we use the oils, they go to work in our bodies in the same way. As someone who has studied Aromatherapy for clinical health and skincare, I know oils can replace so many products out there and have amazing benefits for our bodies without any nasty side effects. The oils I use are from Doterra, they are certified 100% pure therapeutic grade oils. This was one of the main reasons I chose them as through my research I discovered a lot of "essential oils" out there are synthetically made or are adulterated and have no therapeutic qualities at all. If you would like anymore information on the oils and their benefits, how to buy oils or would like any products made for your specific needs get in touch and I will be more than happy to help.

As someone who beat a stage 3 COPD death sentence, these herbs/spices were instrumental in my healing process. Thanks to Anna Palm for the meme.

Best Foods for Your Lungs
Filling your plate with a few of the best foods for your lungs can help decrease inflammation, improve airway function and protect against certain types of pulmonary disease. Here are a few of the best foods for your lungs and airways.

1. Apples
Not only can an apple a day keep the doctor away, but apples may also help promote better lung health as well. One study published in The European Respiratory Journal reported that apples could help slow declining lung function over a 10-year period, especially for former smokers.

The phytochemicals found in apples has also been shown to decrease oxidative stress and inflammation, which could potentially enhance pulmonary function.

2. Green Tea
Green tea is brimming with antioxidants and polyphenols that can be beneficial for lung function, including epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which has been shown to help suppress lung cancer cell growth in in vitro studies. Green tea also contains theophylline, a powerful compound that acts as a bronchodilator to improve airway function and ease breathing difficulties.

What’s more, other research shows that regular consumption of green tea could be linked to a lower risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a group of progressive lung diseases that can cause shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing.

3. Leafy Greens
Leafy greens like kale, spinach and arugula are jam-packed with essential nutrients that can support lung health, including antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals.

In fact, studies show that eating more leafy green vegetables may be linked to a lower risk of lung cancer, COPD and adult asthma.

4. Garlic
Garlic possesses powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that can help protect against oxidative stress within the lungs and throughout the body. What’s more, one study out of China even found that consuming raw garlic at least two times per week was associated with a lower risk of developing lung cancer over time.

5. Ginger
Ginger is a potent spice that has been extensively studied for its medicinal properties, especially when it comes to lung health. In one animal model, administering ginger to rats was effective at decreasing lung damage and protecting against inflammation and excess oxygen levels.

Another animal model showed that ginger extract prevented DNA and tissue damage in the lungs caused by alcohol.

6. Salmon
As one of the top lung cleansing foods, salmon is a great source of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids. Some research suggests that these heart-healthy fats could help promote pulmonary blood flow and may be beneficial for certain respiratory conditions.

One study conducted by the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology in Barcelona even found that consuming higher amounts of omega-3 fatty acids was associated with lower markers of inflammation in those with COPD.

7. Turmeric
Turmeric is one of the best foods for your lungs thanks to its content of curcumin, the chemical that provides turmeric with its vibrant color and impressive health benefits.

Preliminary research suggests that the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric could aid in the treatment of several respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, acute respiratory distress syndrome, lung injury and pulmonary fibrosis.

8. Bananas
Rich in potassium, fiber and vitamin C, bananas are a powerhouse of nutrition and can be especially beneficial when it comes to lung health.

So why exactly is banana good for lungs? Studies show that the potassium found in bananas helps the lungs contract and expand, which can prevent breathing problems.

Other research has found that bananas could preserve lung function and may even be associated with a lower risk of wheezing caused by childhood asthma.

There was a time, not too far distant, when herbs and the plant kingdom played the majority role in medicine and wellness.

Thankfully this idea and the use of herbs seem to be coming back into fashion. Maybe it's because people are starting to realise modern medicine is not all its cracked up to be.

Yes it definitely has its place in acute and emergency situations but for long standing chronic disease it is definitely falling short.

I see this everyday with my patients who could be on over 30 tablets a day, most tablets are to allivate the symptoms that are caused by the medications they're taking 🤦‍♀️.

These tablets are de-humanising people, causing them to be tired and lethargic all the time, gain weight, lose their s*x drive, skin conditions, insomnia, completely numbing them from feeling emotions - they don't feel happy, they don't feel sad they just feel mehhhh.

We have an abundance of natural medicines around us which aren't promoted as no-one can make money from them. They are actually demonised as "weeds". I was listening to a podcast recently that made such a good point, plants that thrive around us in our own environment are usually the plants that are good for us as we survive together in the same conditions.

Plants that grow naturally in nature are organic, no nasty pesticides or fertilisers (have you seen how these are actually added to our crops by people in hazmat suits 😳 wtf).

Most of these "weeds" that grow around us are packed with nutrients and have so many medicinal properties.

And most importantly they are FREE!!!

I got a wee delivery with some new oils today, I am like a kid at Christmas.

I am especially excited to try Helichrysum, the most expensive oil I have invested in so far. This oil has been used for its extensive list of health benefits since ancient Greece. It contians active constituents that have not been identified in any other essential oil.

Helichrysum is a super skin healer, it speeds up recovery of any injury to the skin (burns, wounds, infection). It reduces the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes, acne, and scars and helps to promote a glowing, youthful complexion.
It promotes healthy liver function and helps to detoxify the body, cleansing the blood and promoting circulation. It has tons of other benefits, too many to mention.

It is a high vibrational (spiritual) oil 181 MHz. Uplifting to the subconscious, possessing the ability to cut through barriers of anger, allowing forgiveness and the ability to move forward in life.
